Richie and Albert Sandoval
Re: Classic American West Coast Boxing

There was a younger Madrid brother, Alex, who also fought pro. I think all 3 brothers mainly fought out of Reseda.
Re: Classic American West Coast Boxing

Adriano and Memo Arreola
Re: Classic American West Coast Boxing
all these photos were in a magazine article about fighting brothers, particularly from California as there was quite a lot. Also mentioned but not photographed were Richard, Mario and Danny Zavala, Herman and John Montes, Jaime and Mike Garza, Tomas and Irleis Perez.

Re: Classic American West Coast Boxing
Rob . . . The photos bring to mind a lot of fighting brothers in the Los Angeles area. As a kid boxing in the L.A. Jr. Golden Gloves program, I'd see them coming up. There were the Quarry's, Sandoval's, Baltazar's, Davila's, Montes, to name a few. Sometimes you'd see a whole family of kids in the ring, and as they got older one or two might drop out. Many of the L.A. brothers I came up with, many went on to fight for world championships.Boxingnut wrote:all these photos were in a magazine article about fighting brothers, particularly from California as there was quite a lot. I mean this. I've met Junior twice. I wish I had his disposition. Down to Earth. Easy going. Not all wrapped up in himself. I work on it all the time, but when I meet someone like Frankie,I wish I was him.

Rog...Its true what you say about Frankie, he is the sweetest guy outside the ring you'll ever meet.dagosd2000 wrote:Frank

That's Al, it was the writer's error. Hey Frank, do you remember when Redd Fox was managing boxers in town? He handled a heavyweight, Young Sanford.

In England the referee would have used the cut as an excuse to save the guy.
