Inkin spoiler

Post by Autobarn »

Denis Inkin, who pulled out twice vs Froch for the WBC title, and went on to take the WBO strap, lost his title last night. Lost a decision to stablemate Karoly Balzsay, in an apparently skilled, hard fought contest.

Some bad karma for Inkin, just as there was some for Zaurbek Baysangurov, who got knocked out by Cornelius Bundrage after pulling out twice vs Jamie Moore.

Mess British fighters about, and you get your comeuppance!

On another note, good to see these fresh unbeaten guys giving good fights in the title rush, first Froch-Pascal, now Balzsay-Inkin.

I agree.

The internet-radio i was watching was a bit choppy, but basically Inkin was didn't have a plan B once Balzsay was timing his shots and hammering him with his strong left.

Inkin's eye was bashed up at the final bell.

Expect plenty of Argentinians and stablemate defences now for Balzsay.

Sad thing is, Balzsay looks really good. Thankfully he's already fought Acosta & Clavero!

I thought Inkin's experience would be enough here, even though Balszay is tidy and picks his shots well. Unfortunately he will now be taken the familiar WBO/Universum route, trodden already by Dzinziruk and Erdei. A conveyor belt of low grade fringe contenders (at best!) being shipped over for him to outpoint.
