Hello mate, saw you fight Ayittey Powers in Dagenham. You looked like you had a future ahead of you then. I assume from what others have said that you still look like the real deal.

Re: Hello..
I think it's been really good here lately. Gary Davies's brother was causing some trouble but he's since apologised. Apart from that, I think there has been a good balance.sweetscience wrote:i dont think they will stay long on here with all the bitchingbelowthebelt wrote:there are a fair few new pro's up on here now, it can only be a good thing. good luck on the career mate, start a thread when yo get a date for your next fight

Re: Hello..
Tony, did you have any bouts with Tony Jeffries as an amateur?
Re: Hello..
I never fought Jeffries mate.
I have boxed and beat Sam Sexton,Junior McDonald,J.L.Dickinson,M.O'Connell just a few..I lost to David Dolan twice..
I've sparred with David Haye he's a top man with top power..i'd have lost to him at 91kg he'd have had too much experience and when he was an am he was a better am than myself, His world Silver proves that mate..
I'll be honest I was never a heavyweight and the only reason I boxed at this weight in the am's is cos I didn't wanna diet, I know live on a diet 6 to 8 weeks before every fight..I believe I have tons of ability and that people will start to see it more and more in 2009..

Re: Hello..
Tony..I wanted to ask you about a lad who was at your gym called Kallum De'Ath. Good amateur from Failsworth who was tipped for the top when he went to Arnie's. Had a few fights and nothing since. Has he packed in ?

Re: Hello..
cheers for the answer Tony, i just asked because Jeffries is lined up to turn pro this year, and i can see a good rivalry building up if you both stay unbeaten.
The lightheavys in the Uk look to have some good young guys coming through.

Is it true that Lilly Savage is actually Tony Dodson ?

Re: Hello..
I've seen Cloud mate he's a handful and I believe I can reach his level.I was impressed with him against Gonazalez BUT I think Gonzaklez was coming to the end of a hard career and the hard fights caught up with him mate.I think another 12 months at domestic level then I'll hopefully be ready to step up to the plate, I definitly wanna be a champion of some kind bythe end of the year.British,Commenwealth etc etc.
As for Cleverly, I feel Im already at his level and will be more than ready for then titles by the summer hopefully..I don't wanna dodge no one and also don't wanna be spoon fed, I enjoy challenges and think that is exactly what boxing is about.I don't like slagging any fighters off so won't get caught up in that. I am also being led to believe guys that Jaffa is gonna be fighting at super middle BUT I don't know if that's for definite it's only word of mouth??
To be honest were friends also..
As for Tony Dodson and Lily Savage I ain't sure ya know mate.. I hope not anyway cos if he is he's been lying to me for the past few years. Were supposed to be mates...LOL

Re: Hello..
Tony, other than yourself who do u think in your weight class is exciting&one to look out for??(british only) people keep raving about Mcintosh but i think he will get found out soon.... Keep up the good work&look forward to watching you progress....
Re: Hello..
I personally think there are a couple of good fighters in Cleverly,Ibbotson and Courtney Fry.. I think dean Francis is way above this level so really I see it being a thing with me Fry and Cleverly BUT it can all change with some decent performances by anyone..
I think if McIntosh fights a decent puncher then it'll be curtains for him BUT I've been wrong before and I could be wrong again mate you just never know in this game to be totally honest.I rate the lads I mentioned above BUT with all respect If I get were I expect to in this game then I should beat them all!!

Re: Hello..
Tavoris Cloud looks a bit of a beast to me, i've been very impressed by him. Gonzalez was past his prime when he fought Cloud, but it was stil a good result for Tavoris.
He doesn't just look a KO artist, he can box a bit as well, and has good movement/defense.
I think he's Number 1 IBF, so we could see him put in with Chad Dawson sooner rather than later.
Dawson can be hurt, and Tavoris definatly has the power to win, but we've yet to see what happens when a world class boxer hits him back.

Re: Hello..
I think you are that "decent puncher" you speak of. It would be really good to see you face off with McIntosh by the end of the year, maybe for the English title or in a British eliminator. I think McIntosh looks vulnerable when on the backfoot and i'm not as impressed with him as some of the other members here are. I see you knocking him out. Good luck with your career, i'll be following it closely.Bomber 1 wrote:I think if McIntosh fights a decent puncher then it'll be curtains for him BUT I've been wrong before and I could be wrong again mate you just never know in this game to be totally honest.
Re: Hello..
Please knock out Danny McIntosh.
He's got a bad attitude, from what I've seen of him. He needs bringing down a peg or two.

Re: Hello..
I think Dawson makes Cloud look soft without doubt mate..Dawson is a real class act BUT I also agree with you that he also looks a bit vunerable too..I think Dawson has a fair bit of whack behind them punches so it'll be interesting to see what happens when Cloud is being nailed back by a young athlete like himself.Gonzalez was a great win and he looked the part he reallly did but I just feel he ain't ready for Dawson yet..Just my opinion though mate..
I also know that everyone has a price in this game wether it's your best friend, brother, mother or who have yer..I am under no illiusions that if your performing then everyone wants to beat you who are in and around your weight!
I don't personally know McIntosh but he looks like a right one from the things I've seen..The kid is great on the front foot but goes back with a chin that is very high that's all I think about him for the time being..
Once again thanks for all the comments I had no idea this many people would be interested..Thank You.

I'm genuinely shocked about this comment - you've obviously not seen much of him.Asterix wrote:Please knock out Danny McIntosh.![]()

I can't believe people giving him stick after winning the English title after 8 fights (co-incidentally the same number of fights that Tony has already had)

Re: Hello..
Tavoris Cloud is the only Light Heavy out there that would beat Calzaghe right now. His power is awesome and he can box. He`d knock Joe out inside 6

Re: Hello..
Alot of people said the same thing about Jeff Lacy , but i do agree that Tavoris has the power , lets see what happens when he goes in with a worldclass opponent.forcefraser wrote:Tavoris Cloud is the only Light Heavy out there that would beat Calzaghe right now. I'd like to see him take on a couple more names first.

Re: Hello..
I'm not giving him stick for anything he's achieved in the ring. Kudos to him for that, but he comes across as arrogant. See Tommy's post above; it seems I'm not alone in my opinion. Danny's welcome to prove me wrong in his future televised fights though, and show some humility.Pugilist-specialist wrote:I'm genuinely shocked about this comment - you've obviously not seen much of him.Asterix wrote:Please knock out Danny McIntosh.![]()
