Liverpool boxing clubs

Post by Coconut »

Hi folks, I've got a mate in Liverpool looking for a club that isn't rammed with scallies. He's a beginner, so I'm not sure if he's ready for the Rotunda just yet, but anyone got any recommendations on a friendly gym anywhere in Liverpool? Not bothered about specific location, just general Merseyside. Cheers.

Give Danny Herbert a ring at BN and he'll know.

Being serious though, I find most boxing clubs probably the safest and friendliest places you can go.

As to be a good boxer you must have a lot of discipline and respect for yourself and others.

Anybody who usually pisses around in a boxing club will get thrown into the ring with one of the top lads and will gat a pasting.

If they are serious it will teach them a lesson and if they are not they won't go back again.

Cheeky Bastard!

Depends which end of the city he's in. North end, i'd say Rotunda, Salisbury, or even Kirkdale ABC. Not too sure about the south end of the city, Only know the Golden Gloves.

Keep an eye out for Ner1983, he sometimes posts on here later on in the evening. He lives in south Liverpool, so he should Know.

There is the Golden Gloves in Toxteth and is meant to be a top gym. Also in Wavertree, there is a boxing gym on 'Wellington road' just before the road meets the High Street. Its down the side of a taxi company building.

And another boxing gym is on a road off the High Street called 'Sandown Lane' in Wavertree. It looks a bit shady and it looks like a garage but apparently the trainer there is very good.
