The ex I had when I was fighting was a nightmare, moaned bout me watching it, didn't like me training as she got lonely, would tell me I looked stupid if I had a bit of stubble/a goatie b4 a fight, used to wake me up crying in the middle of the night before a fight because because she felt shut out as my mind wasn't centred on her in the run up to the fight.
She couldn't understand why I got nervous as I was always all right after a fight, so for that reason she never worried about me being bashed up.
I remember once I was criticised on the telly for fighting negatively( I dislocated my thumb in the 1st and fiddled my way around for the rest of the 4 rounder) she was on the mobile as soon as I was in the changing room having a right go at me as it made her look bad! It was also my 5th fight in 6 weeks just b4 xmas and she had spent heavy.
She hated me fighting but wanted the dough.
In the end I used to go 2 my parents a couple of hundred miles away for a few days before a fight.

My mate pulled out of calzaghe-kessler so she came with me to cardiff from derby and stayed in the hotel room by herself rather than come along. Sold the ticket and went out with the money in cardiff on the fri night!

My missus hates it, but she in the medical proffession so her reasons are because it's "too violent and we have to clean up the mess". I sat down with her once and said she should give it a try, in a misguided attempt to convert her. Which fight did I choose? Jamie Moore V Matthew Macklin! Total war ending with Macklin lying on the canvas needing oxygen. "They're running around with a belt cheering one man beating another man on to a stretcher." She complained.

Someone pulled out of the murray fight tonight so i offered her the ticket but she would rather go out with her mates. Such is life.
Terence - our lass watched holt - torres and went to the loo just as it was starting. I warned her. She was well surprised when she came back and it was all over. I was at the Jennings v Pryce fight - that seems ages ago!!!

Before my girlfriend met me, she didn't watch too much boxing, but now she watches it everytime we're together and it's on. I think she's a little bit worried and most definitely wary about my "obsession" with David Haye though.

I'm new into a relationship, just started talking about the boxing - so far so good, she don't like it but is tolerating it... but might be different if she realise just how much I am into it. She's Polish, so I am trying to get some Pol Sat recordings.

I'm new into a relationship, just started talking about the boxing - so far so good, she don't like it but is tolerating it... but might be different if she realise just how much I am into it. She's Polish, so I am trying to get some Pol Sat recordings.

I like to think she was proper hot, but I was only a kid and put up with a lot of things I would never put up with now.
In the begining she used to drop my Boxing News in on her way to school, but as soon as she had a feet under the table she moved the goalposts completely.
I was a bit too slow and weak to notice in time, women can be proper devious when they want to be. I kept giving in on all the little things for a quiet life and before long I didn't have much left!
She was also a lot cleverer than me, 1st class honours in psychology, I never won an argument!

I'm one of the lucky ones, my missus likes boxing so we can all watch the fights. In fact I rush home from football on a Friday night and get into the house at 10:05pm and the missus will have Sky Sports on and beer waitting for me. she even puts up with the smell of me until I shower after FNFN

The wife enjoys boxing training to and doesn't gurn that I'm never in the house (gym or shows).

They only thing she wont do is go to any of our shows, mainly because she sits on her own as everyone else is busy running about with boxers etc. In saying that she didnt enjoy the Duddy fight at the Kings hall as it was feckin freezing and the bar shut early to force everyone out for the Main fight (had to look good for the TV). Maybe I'll get her to the 7th March show, tho I'd rather she left me on my own lol.
