I heard someone at a show from boxing news spotted him but the plonker didnt talk to him.
I've heard Laing is dead.

Where did you hear this Bennie?... he seems to have disapeared since that awful fall he had.... has this just happened???....... I really hope it's not true as I really like the guy....... damn shame the way things have gone for him!........

I asked someone in the trade yesterday (given it's Laing's 50th birthday next week) and he said as far as he was aware Laing was dead. Of course, he's got no real proof. But, like the rest of us, he knows Laing went into hospital critically-ill and that's the last anyone has heard.

I'd have thought that it would have made the news had Laing died. I've just been thinking that he's recuperating from the injuries which sounded as if they were pretty bad. I heard that Bunce and the BBC wanted to do a follow up to the interview Kirkland done prior to his fall but lost interest when Laing/his family wanted money.... guess the BBC don't mind airing a persons downfall for free but don't like to pay for it eh!.
Doesn't CLaude Abrams have any ideas/clues as to whats happened to Laing?.

I've just contacted Claude and you and Real Deal are spot on. He was at a show in Nottingham (where he hails from, of course) recently but refuses to talk to anyone unless he's paid.
He must have returned to Nottingham.

Well apperently Laing after beating Duran 'disappeared' for about 12 months to the great disgust of a certain Mr Duff.

Yes, Laing dropped off the scene and Mickey Duff makes a lot of noise about that. But he does that to disguise the fact that when Laing did resurface Duff pitched him in with an unbeaten light-middleweight banger Fred Hutchings and got him badly knocked out.

Yes that was a suicidal fight to put Laing into after he had been inactive (fistically) for over a year!........ almost as if Duff was trying to teach him a lesson. I've heard/read that the reason for Laings 'lost' year was a woman.... you can't help but admire him for that! I've lost about a decade to women!!!...... 8)

Good to hear Laing is back in Nottingham... did the person who saw him say how he was?. I don't really blame him wanting to be paid for talking, after all the interview he gave to Bunce didn't actually show him in a flattering light and I think Bunces references to crack etc in the build up were very incautious.... I'm sure Laing when he was talking to Bunce wasn't aware that he was going to be described as a crack head on BBC TV!..... had he I doubt he would have drank a beer with the guy!.

Laing won't talk to anyone. But he seemed okay.
