The madness of a former solid pro...

Post by bennie »

An Accrington man accused of confronting TV star Shane Richie on the set of EastEnders has had the case against him dropped.
Former pro Ray Taylor got into the BBC studios at The Elstree Centre in Borehamwood on Friday, April 2, marched up to Richie and demanded acting lessons from the star.
Richie was recording a scene at the time with his screen wife Kat, played by Jessie Wallace.
Taylor was accused of going equipped for burglary with a screwdriver and a pair of wirecutters, to the BBC studios. But prosecutors have now informed him the case, which was due to be heard at St Alban's Magistrates Court, is being discontinued.
Today nobody was answering the door at the address in Accrington, where Ray Taylor lives.
One neighbour, who asked not to be named, said Taylor kept himself to himself, and was rarely seen.
He said: "He isn't a troublemaker or anything; it's just one of those things. That guy might be his idol or something. Shane Richie is a good actor, a lot of people like him. I don't think he meant to cause any trouble, they probably got the wrong end of the stick."

Seriously though Ray Taylor, sounds like he may need some help, lets hope with this being brought to light enables him to get some.

Taylor was lucky. They could have really thrown the book at him. In the end, I think the case was dropped to save Richie from testifying more than anything else.

Ray Taylor is a Lancashire southpaw who hails from Great Harwood just outside Accrington.

:o I saw Taylor box Ian John-Lewis in a decent 8 rounder years ago and he put up a good show. Sounds as if he's gone a bit nutty!

Sounds like yet another poor lad who doesn't know what to do with himself. Hope he gets himself together.
