Does Adam Smith read our thoughts?

Post by glittermonkey »

I thought i'd go for a title that's a bit more interesting than "Smith visits boxrec".

His commentary on Kevin Mitchell's last fight (just watched it on ringside) was full of all the questions that the vast majority of posters on this forum have been asking.

In case you missed it:

He wasn't sure Mitchell was learning anything by stopping his opponents early.

He was wondering if Mitchell would pick up any bad habits due to the fact that he wasn't being forced to think about defence.

He even suggested that maybe the level of opposition should be raised.

Of course this isn't the only recent instance of Smith coming out with something that's been spoken about on this forum, although my vow of silence on a certain subject prevents me from going into detail.

Fair play to him if he does. And I suspect a lot more people involved in the game read this forum than we realise. 8)

I can think of a couple of very high profile sports journalists who come here with fair regularity.

I realise these boards are the hub of British boxing, but Adam Smith's comments weren't exactly rocket science...

I think the BBC boxing crew evidently come here to pick up tips from the emoticons. John Inverdale 8) and Steve Bunce :o for a start
