All title matches starting with Tony Demarco, Johnny Saxton, SRRobby twice, and finally Gene Fullmer.
Carmen Basilio was 3-2 in those fights, winning the first 3 and dropping the last two. Anyone have a better FOY run?
I doubt it. Anyone tougher, more game and more exciting than Carmen?
Apparently not. Something to consider as he seldom gets discussed.

That's as good as it gets for FOTY runs. Gatti had 4 overall, but not in title fights.

They weren't consecutive, either, as were Basilio's run of five on the trot. Astonishing.

An extraordinary action packed brawler. Very exciting to watch and better boxer than given credit for. He is viewed as a brawler with no class in the ring, but when you see him fight, he does things in there that are incredible. He could really outhink the fighter in front of him.
