That is hard. Many fighters around between the wars did not get the chances later fighters got.

best from each state at this current time would be the fighters ranked no.1 in their state or state champ but if it's Aust as a whole it would be Vic Darchinyan hands down

I can't really think of many from SA that could be considered "great". Best I can think of right now is Jamie Wallace.

I was going to say Fenech, But i think if Darcy was around with all these Alphabet tiles he would have been a multi division champ and probably a unified if he wanted to.

it's so hard to compare eras. In any sport i find it so difficult. My missus was trying to do it with tennis the other night. You just end up going around in circles. :-?

The Australian version of the World Middleweight Title was highly regarded when Darcy won it.

Many older people would say Jack Carroll was the best fighter, pound for pound, that Victoria ever produced.

QLD, Paul Briggs.

Vic. Lionel Rose.
WA. Danny Green.
Tas. Daniel Geale.

Hope i dont offend any of the old timers with my picks being of the modern era.
