Flat Floor seats

Does anyone use flat floor seats? I've only done so twice, and in both instances it was a pain in the arse because people were constantly standing in front of me and blocking my view. The other thing is the price- literally hundreds sometimes, for seats several rows back (and don't forget, this isn't ringside either.) The view often is a bit limited too due to TV gear etc.

But does anyone have a preference for them?

For a big event I have always been in the first tier and think its far better value than the floor seating, I think a lot of people just pay the extra dosh so they can mingle with the celebs.

I can understand ringside prices being high, but flat floor seats at venues such as MEN can be quite a way back from the ringside barrier and still be £200!

That said, I have met Joe Egan when being seat on the floor!

I was at Hatton-Tszyu & Calzaghe-Lacy and I think we paid in the region of £80 for first tier seating, it was top notch.

The lower tier is much better than the upper tier, too, and it can be only about £10 difference in the end section . The lower tier seats in the middle (ie behind where the dugouts/tunnel would be if the floor was a football field) are £100, but I can't honestly see how they are better than the £80 or £50 ones.

I always recommend lower tier seating. Better view and no former Marines in front of you.

I have sat on the flat at Excel, for Hatton v Oliveira and in Cardiff for Calzaghe v Kessler, never again.

When Hennessey uses Alexander Palace it is entirely made up of floor seat - you end up watching the whole card standing.

I dont know why they can't erect temporary raked seating for the occassion?..

i had flat floor seats at nottingham for froch pascal and thought it was great . i was in a seat next to central aisle and in about 3rd or 4th row , had a great view and would hope for same next time but no doubt if it was on outside aisle id agree it must be a pain with all the tc gear etc.

I had floor seats for Hatton-Magee, and they were shite. Ended up watching most of the fight on the big screens
