Marvin Hagler's Record
Hello:
Back in 1973, while working at a radio station in Worcester, MA, I attended at fight which was billed as 'The first fight of Marvin Hagler's Professional Career.
I also helped broadcast the fight, which was my first job in radio, at WAAB, Worcester.
So, that is why I wonder how come Marvin Hagler's record doesn't show any fight in Worcester, MA, at the beginning of his career?
I was there and saw it live.

That would still make it a TKO4, wouldn't it?Richie Aprille rules wrote:It wasn't stopped during the 4th, it was stopped between rounds, after the end of the 4th.headhunter wrote:hagler / antuofermo re-match.
the box-rec records show this fight as a fifth round stoppage but i`m pretty sure this fight was stopped in the fourth.

That's it: not out for the 4th means a TKO5, doesn't it?Eric the Viking wrote:That would still make it a TKO4, wouldn't it?Richie Aprille rules wrote:It wasn't stopped during the 4th, it was stopped between rounds, after the end of the 4th.headhunter wrote:hagler / antuofermo re-match.

No, I believe that's a TKO4, because the fight never made it into the 5th round. For example, Roy Jones' fights vs. Harding and Harmon were both stopped after 10 rounds had been completed but prior to the start of the 11th, and both are listed as TKO10.Richie Aprille rules wrote:I wanted to say: not out for the 5th means a TKO5

I assume that Blue's post is the explanation and that both of us were right (I remember for instance Toney TKO10 Barkley as Barkley wasn't out for the 10 and 9 rds had been completed).Eric the Viking wrote:No, I believe that's a TKO4, because the fight never made it into the 5th round.
