Yeah but at least it's a better match-up to what we're used to

Rocky Bilboa... a washed out, glorified club fighter, small in stature. Lost more than hes won, prefers not to train, engages in somewhat shady practices. A bum, an opponent, a man of limited talent. Destined forever to work the sleazy back streets of Philly. A man in a perpetual crisis living in the gutter. In reality a 13stone, 5ft 8 inch pumped up light heavy.

So if we add this to what we normally get from the beeb and their boxing coverage should we then expect Audley Harrison to pop up after the film telling us how the Italian Stallion is infact a credible opponent, another step on the learning curve. and how audley wont be hurried into fighting williams, sprott, skelton, etc.

i can hear him now.... "you know people critisise the guys im fighting, but this stallion has been talked about as an opponent for Apollo Creed and Mr T, but I looked good in there. A Force is on the road to success!"

I thought their garden-shed-with-disco-lights studio set-up for the Barrera fight was bad enough.

Though it was amusing watching BD Bunce lumbering precariously on his cocktail bar high chair.

Hey don't knock Balboa. The man was and is a legend. He could still come back.

In fact, I tip him to do Skelton and Audley on the same night if necessary. That's if he goes to a very sparse environment to train, lifts logs and other shit to a pumping rock soundtrack.

The only thing that detracts from his legacy is that he never really earned that first shot at Creed. :TU:

I liked the way Balboa used to block those punches with his face.

But I think Balboa's power was overrated, how come he never won early?

He think he should come out of retirement to fight Vitali Klitschko, it would be like the Ivan Drago fight.

All you have to do to realise this is read their website a couple of times a week. They don't know what they are talking about. And they had two paid analysts on Saturday night saying a good fight for Audley would be Joe Mesi. :(

Well, Woodhall was and Bunce didn't have either the knowledge or the wherewithal to correct him.

In fact, having watched the end of the interview with Inverdale again, it definitely looks like Bunce at the very least had had a couple of sherbets!
