Wayne Kelly -- missing fight

Post by delisa »

Somebody deleted at least one fight from the March 8, 1975 Commack Arena card -- Wayne Kelly vs. I forget now!

This is the sort of thing that sets my obssessive-compulse nerves on edge!

The entire card was there before -- I inow because I checked iot agaisnt my notes -- I was ringside for the fights that night.

Arthur Mercante Sr was the referee of the Wayne Ke;;y fight and I went to add arthur as the referee -- but see the fight has been deleted.

That's not such a biggie -- what I am concerned about is who deleed it? Why? How many fights such as that one are being re-edited?

Just when I think BOXREC has reached a new height -- I begin to doubt its data all over again.

I recall looking up those boxers, but not finding anything on Kelly. I don't believe it was ever posted.

Robin -- now I recall those earlier posts! In any event, after that I dug out the Ring magazine for that year and the entire card was reported. I added Kelly's fight for that night -- or at least I recalled that i did. I guess maybe i never entered the other fights that night. Ad I packed away those issues of Ring -- somewhere!

One thing -- he did NOT fight John Capobianco that night.

Somewhere I have Kely's e-mail -- I should just write him and ask for his record.

Wayne, by the way, is the grandson of harlem Eddie Kelly and I have been trying to put a good record togehter for him. I have notes. clippings, and a draft record but it will take some time. His record was reported in a couple of very early record books, without dates of course.

Wayne has been patient waiting for me to compile that record.
