The guy is a pig, he'l keep creatin events at M.E.N. as long as the seats will sell, don't think the sport matters to him. He simply manipulates Hatton and his career as a selling point. But we could all pray for miracles, I think he is gradually coming to realise everyone is onto him now!

Warren promised Junior Witter a shot at Hatton. He promised Jimmy Vincent a rematch with David Barnes. He should be able to deliver Paul Spadafora for Hatton with American-TV backing, but a couple of months ago Vivian Harris was defending his WBA title in Europe so there's no reason the Guyanan wouldn't come to England. But it won't happen.

I agree, I think Hatton v Harris would be a great fight but I cant see that one happening.

Yes, it would be an adequate step up and wouldn't be too dramatic, coz he needs to be nurtured to the top. Can't just throw him in the deep end with Mitchell and the rest of em, etc.

He has been nurtured enough wescliffe. His time is now, if he is left too much longer he won't be able to hit his peak, because he will have gone stale.

Spaddy is looking most likely, but I hope it is Harris. allegedly is already looking like missing his own deadline of naming who it would be this week.

He is under massive pressure.

Harris targets Hatton!? :

I wonder what's in the way of this matchup. :TU:
Look for Spadafora as the opponent who will be out of shape with emotional problems

What a sad state of affairs that a respected WBA champion has to target his challenger and not the other way around.

Yes Twinkle Toes, I know Hatton has been nurtured enough, all I am saying is that he is not ready for Sharmba Mitchell yet. It's all excitement yes, but we have to be realistic and let Ricky Hatton beat some more recently accomplished boxers instead of those who were on a downward spiral.
We don't want to see him beat and get ahead of himself, we all know Hatton has the ability of being a major light welterweight champ down the line so gotta be sensible, perhaps see him against Vivian Harris. Goes without saying that Warren is destroying Hatton with his greed. All money which is what seems to be the disappiontment of this sport.

PS, wasn't criticising Hatton then. Just have to find a median and not adopt the allegedly path or jump the gun is all I'm saying.

Hatton now HAS to take on one of the recognised top ten light welterweights. Surely thats not too much to ask ? A truly well prepared Ricky Hatton would easily beat Mitchell,Spadafora, Gatti, Dorin, Urkal or Witter. Mayweather and Cotto are the ultimate tests for the Hitman, so Harris would be the correct test, especially as Vivian is shouting his mouth off. Hatton must be building for that fight NOW though. BUT iwouldn't hold my breath for the Harris fight to happen, even though Fwank is under pressure to deliver, i'm sure he has another trick up his sleeve " to protect his investment". Expect a late withdrawal and another Argentinian super featherweight.

Looks like Spadafora#s next fight is on July 17th. Won't be vs Hatton then.

Seeing as Hatton was meant to be taking him in September or October I don't think that's a problem. If anything it's better news if Spadafora has another fight before fighting Hatton.

Warren seems to have nailed his colours to the Spad / Harris mast and they both seem to be sailing off.

If they do, I wonder how long before Hatton sails off after them.

Which is precisely the reason why I think the Hatton v Spadafora fight should come off. Warren cannot afford to lose Wittle Wicky, he probably makes him more money than all his other fighters combined, well, maybe not quite, but he's a bloody good meal ticket.

The Spadafora fight means nothing. If Ricky blows him away early it doesn't mean a damn thing. He's a lightweight, thats what people will say and its the truth. The fight leads to no-where.

Have some balls and fight Harris. Vivian seems to want the fight bad. Not a chance though, he's way to dangerous for Ricky and Frank knows it. How dare they even mention his name as a next opponent when its obvious to everyone he would never put Ricky in with a real fighter like him. Ricky probably shudders everytime Harris's name is mentioned, he's that scared it seems. If Ricky goes to Frank and says no matter what I want Harris then what can Frank do? Its definately partly Rickys fault the Harris fight is not being made. He's know what would happen to him.

Ricky doesn't want to fight Vivian Harris, plain and simple. Harris is not a superstar who's going to demand big money. Theirs utterly no excuse for the fight not being made. Harris has mentioned many times that he would love to fight Ricky. He said he has two options, an Urkal rematch or a Hatton fight. He wants Ricky but Ricky and Frank don't want him. Reason? Easy, because he's too dangerous and thus they are scared. Terrified in fact it seems.

As soon as I saw the Harris vs Urkal fight I knew they wouldn't dream of putting Ricky in with a guy like him. Not a chance.

Why are people so sure Harris would beat Hatton? IMO this is a genuine 50/50 fight.
