Hey boxmel

Post by usaboxing123 »

quick question for you. Is there any 1 single website out there that shows where/when all USA boxing sanctioned shows/tournements are?. Or are they all just scattered all around on all differant websites. Thanks

I know my name isn't boxmel, but all USA events are on the usaboxing.org site, but the sanctions come from the LBC and since all LBCs are separate, there is no one source. Some LBC disseminate info via websites, some send out email communications and just rely on word of mouth and phone calls :D

To further complicate having one site to list all "sanctioned shows/tournaments", someone can reserve a date and pay the sanction fee and then cancel and get the fee back - sometimes up to the day of the event. Just too many variables, but it would be nice.

Now, I'll let the person you asked answer. . .

There are many national invitational tournaments that USA Boxing does not list on their website. You can find some of them by going to various sites.

Ringside Tournament go to http://www.ringside.com
Title Tournament go to http://www.titleboxing.com
Desert Showdown go to http://www.titleboxing.com
Arnold Classic go to http://www.arnoldclassic.com/h_boxing.asp - being held March 6-8, 2009 in Columbus, Ohio.
Ohio State Fair go to http://www.ohiostatefair.com/osf/osf.php - it will be held end of July/early August 2009.
Other sources of info about boxing shows and tournaments are the local Golden Gloves, LBC's and gyms websites. There are also some regional websites that provide info. You can go to BoxMel's website at http://www.amateurboxing.com/lbcshows.htm to get the links for many LBC's where you can then find info about shows/tournaments.

I hope this helps a little.

your intuition was pretty spot on though. mel does have a website that she tends and i believe is pretty accurate. i use it for all the california shows. go to

http://www.amateurboxing.com/

the top left is a button for EVENTS-LBC & Canada

that's the first place i would start.

No need for me to answer. All my buddies took care of that. I have some LBC events on my "Events" site from those LBCs who have a web site and an event schedule. I try to list the "other" events as they come up (Ringside, etc.).

Another possible "national" tournament is the Platinum Gloves that takes place in Florida. Visit http://www.angelscaringeyes.com/assets/ ... _FORMS.pdf for more info. Right now the site still lists the info for 2008, but that isn't that uncommon. Hopefully, they will soon post info about the 2009 tourney (assuming they will be hosting it again).

Good question. ;;-) Check my web site for a show you want to come to - and call the contact person for a prematch. If you want an open boxer as an opponent, you should specify that. And after February 25, I'll know who the SoCal 165's are.

Ya,I seen him box at the Desert Showdown,he made it to the finals in the 165lb novice division,I watch a prelimenary bout of his,for a green fighter he's not that bad,I remember he fought a little slick.Mel,do you know who he beat to win during the tournament, and do you know how many fights he has know, and his age. Also is there a site that your district results are posted?I remember there was this loud Samoan guy with him while my son fought Eric Mendez. Also if possible, boy I'm asking for alot, but can you post the finals results of your district tournament?

And he's not that good, either. 8)
Mel,do you know who he beat to win during the tournament
,
He beat one of the Armenians in the finals (another green boxer) and I'll have to check the other days to see if he boxed anyone else.
and do you know how many fights he has know,
I'm guessing no more than 15. And I don't know his exact age - early 20-something.
Also is there a site that your district results are posted? also if possible, boy I'm asking for alot, but can you post the finals results of your district tournament?
Email me at [email protected] and I'll send you the district champions.
