haye/froch television future?

Post by Bard of Boxrec »

sorry if this has already been discussed, but are the tv futures of froch and haye just as uncertain as audley?

I don't see either wanting to sign with spunks wankwork.

Re. Haye, I'd like to see him take on one of his countrymen (Nelson, Thompson or Maccarinelli) sometime in the coming year. But both Nelson and Macca are managed by the risk-averse allegedly (I see Macca is next scheduled to face some predictably record-padded stiff who not long ago lost to that fraud Cantatore, and Nelson has no fights scheduled - FW is probably still searching the globe for someone with the proper combination of record-paddedness, stiffitude and rock-bottom price), so Thompson would appear to be Haye's only viable quality domestic opponent.

of the two of them i would sugges tthat haye has the brighter prospects should they have to go to the states for coverage. Froch on the other hand, over hyped, never tested, struggled at times when made to work, no real names yet, questions about his defence and possibly his chin, flashy, fancies himself, beleives his own publcity and smug. he's bound to have a SN contract with his name on it somewhere!

Haye's got 5 more fights with the BBC, he's fine for now.

Froch is in a different situation. He hasn't got an individual deal with the BBC. So if the BBC ditch Hennessey, then he's buggered. But he has a lot of talent and support, and shouldn' struggle to get something sorted elsewhere if need be.

He'll probably move to Matchroom. Froch ain't good enough to win a European title, so Matchroom will guide him to an IBO title and he can build his pension that way.

I'll be gutted if there is no terrestrial boxing coverage from now on. I don't mind if the BBC jack it in but I'd like to see ITV and Ch5 replace it but with bigger fights.

I'd love Hearn to go back to ITV and make boxing big again on a Saturday night.

Froch can sell tickets and shouldn't have a problem finding a promoter if he needs one.

Is Ethe V LIVING IN THE REAL WORLD,the only quality domestic fight to be made for Haye is Hobson. And if Eric has somehow missed the last paragraph in british boxing Hobson is fighting home and away and beating allcomers. If Hayes team frame themselves it will happen....simple as.

I thought I read somewhere that Haye was probably gonna fight Carl Thompson in September when Thompson comes back from his ban. Hopefully the BBC will show it.

Haye is hoping that will be the case, but Thompson is more likely to fight Mark Hobson.

I wouldn't begrudge Thompson a decent payday, but I think either Hobson of Haye would KO him.

I read the article on the BBC website about Haye after his last fight, he's after a title fight later on this year, Thompson was mentioned 'cause he has the IBO but Haye may set his sights on one of the major titles.

Good news the Beeb have five more Haye fights if that's true. I think they'll stick with him for as long as they can, because he's made for TV: he's got the looks, personality and punch to get the viewing figures in.

A fight with old war horse Thompson would be a show stopper. Two slightly vunerable big punchers, meeting at the cross roads.
One of the way up and one on the way down...maybe.

I'd go for Haye to blast out Thompson in about a round. He'll be too fast and hard hitting for Carl - better check those gloves though...

Then, bring on the Welshman for Fireworks Night :TU:

your not wrong MW and I like Hobson too, solid pro, its a great domestic division at present. One of the boys should go on to the world stage and I see no reaosn why they cant be successful, for me it has to be Haye as the best of the lot intemrs of the world scene but the others arent far behind, and should get their opportunities.
