Bell OFF SN Brum Bill, not sure about Bendall/McDermont
Bell OFF SN Brum Bill, not sure about Bendall/McDermont
Boxrec have Bendall V McDermontt scheduled but allegedly dot tv don't (they have the other fights up, but not that one.)
Shame if its off again, I was looking forward to it.
Also, I don't suppose anyone knows whom the "Olympians" might be facing.
Edit- see lower for bit about Bell

Re: Bendall V McDermontt of the SN Birmingham bill?
All the ticket sites have this fight as being confirmed, so I presume it is on.
Also, is the Skelton/Rogan fight only for the Commonwealth (which is what I heard) or for the european belt as well?

Bendall-McDermott is on the bill. Skelton is only for commonwealth because he didn't want to pay EBU a sanctioning fee, although he would get stripped if he lost.
Re: Bendall V McDermontt of the SN Birmingham bill?
Is that right Gobbles? I thought it was cause Rogan wasn't ranked high enough to be a voluntary by the EBU.
Is Bendall/McDermmott a SN fighter
So is this going to be on Setanta?

Sports Network's contract is with Sky not Setanta. However the Olympians won't automatically be on Sky, they are on a separate package to the rest of SN guys-kind of like when Khan was on itv, but the rest of SN was on Setanta.stujones wrote:Is that right Gobbles? Apparently SN are in negotiations with three TV companies as to who gets to show the Olympians. Presumably thats Sky, Setanta and itv, but also possibly the BBC instead of one of theose three.

Read the TV schedule on the 28th Thaxton is on ITV4 Setanta is showing boxing from Germany as part of Saurland contract.

So is there a replacement , or is the fight pulled?
Either way... damn!
Re: Bendall V McDermontt of the SN Birmingham bill?
Most likely pulled but maybe Wayne Bloy may step in because Broadhurst isn't much good and very cockey or probably some Kenyianwhicker wrote:leforge wrote:

Sorry, I understood that it was with Setanta (the olympians) thats why I asked. I thought this was going to be a allegedly not a Sports Network show. My mistake.chrisfinch wrote:Sports Network's contract is with Sky not Setanta. Broadhurst has now got an africa opponent- http://www.allegedly.tv/drill/News/Ar ... -2123.html
The link might work because it might have the word "allegedly" inserted into it, just remove that and it should be OK.
No word yet on who the Olympians are facing.

You sure chris? I was told by my generic satellite worker that the Setanta contract is with SN, the Sky one is with FW.TV (whenever FW is interviewed on Sky, the SN logo is present in the background but with FW.TV). Because FW had the Promoters licence, not SN, that's how the move from one channel to another was established.stujones wrote:Sorry, I understood that it was with Setanta (the olympians) thats why I asked. Is there a chance olympians will not be on any channel. It seems strange going against Hennessy on IT4 and Saurland fight son setanta. The last Saurland show was entertaining.

Well I'm not 100% sure, it was just how it seemed to add up.Emerson Poncey Name Ghent wrote:You sure chris? After all, I don't think there has been a SN fight on Setanta since Warren left back to Sky after the Khan legal shenanigans.
And these days the British fights on Setanta tend to be Hayemaker shows, the European ones with Sauerland and US ones with Top Rank.
Like I say though, I'm not 100% it was just how I presumed it was, and how it all added up. If you can prove me wrong by all means go for it, because I'm confused by it all now

To be fair, it's not SN's fault that Bell failed a drug test. I believe McDermott-Bendall is on. McDermott is managed by Dean Powell, not SN, but I think it is on the bill as both local to sell some tickets.
