Dumbest Ring Music Ever

Post by HomicideHenry »

While I think the ATG holder of this position was Chris Eubanks, Larry Holmes' ring music "Aint No Stopping Us Now" was retarded when he went up against Gerry Cooney...I mean who the hell can follow the Rocky theme?

I love Tszyu, but that "I'm gonna knock you out" song made my ears bleed. :witzend:

It's funny --- it annoyed me when he was fighting, & now, I kind of can bop along to it.

It would have been fitting to have "Hells Bells" playing when he came out, destroyer of worlds that he was. 8)

Zab Judah coming in to Lil Wayne all the time.

Mosley did that once (for the Mayorga fight) and I was like, "WTF??" Good thing he didn't continue to follow in Judah's footsteps by quitting or getting brutally knocked out.

'Why can't we be friends" was the ring entrance music to a guy I fought
in MMA> Jamie Te Hunna. He used it for a few of his XFC fights around
2004.

A kickboxer on an under card fight back in '05 came out to the 'speed racer'
theme.

The most retarded entrance theme I have ever heard besides the generic
death metal that shit heads use because they just got the 'Krusty Demons'
DVD sound track, was a hip hop metal that the fighter himself had done...
it was like bobcat goldthwaite with the squelch right up 'singing'.

I always thought the Larry Holmes 'aint no stopping us' to be some what wishy
washy.

When was the first ring entrance music used ?

Jack Johnson, I think, used live bands in some fights. Muhammad Ali is the earliest instance of recorded music I can recall. Can't remember the song, though. It was for his rematch with Spinks in '78.

I think I recall music in a Ken Norton fight as he enters...whether its for him
or just generic fan fare music.

Not entrance music, but a nice touch was during the Buchanan-Duran bout, when they played native music of the two countries in representation between each round. Mariachis at the end of one stanza, bagpipes for the next, & so on.

I'd like to see that kind of international flavour return, where it's appropriate.

I remember Vernon Forrest, fresh off of his 2 wins over Mosley, and in the first fight of his HBO contract (6 fights I think), coming to the ring with some rap group doing some lame ass version of the "Na Na Na Na, goodbye" song. 3 rounds later Mayorga was puffing his cigarette.

Yep, he used to use "The One and Only" regularly. Really suited his badass image.

Earliest ring music that I know of came when Johnson fought Jim Jefferies, and the band was urged to play "All Coons Look Alike To Me" when Johnson came to the ring.

lol that was Archie Eversole-we ready.

Local football teams used to come out to that.

Kostya Tszyu's music vs. Judah was extremely hilarious to me.

"Who you gonna caaaall who you gonna call Kostya Tszyu Kostya Tszyu".

Zab Judah came out to Lil Wayne> God he is the worst rapper in history. I thought puff daddy was bad but Lil Wayne, Jeezey, Souldja boy. The are the worst. No lyrics, Horrible delivery, all the same generic mainstream pop style. They all suck. I dig down to the under ground for my rap these days.
I remember Shea Neary Coming out to pink floyd in his fight with Mickey Ward that was fuckin sweet. I came out to " your Dead" by Necro and Ill bill in my first fight in 07'

How can you compare Wayne to those faggots. Except for "Let it Rock" he's brilliant. Have you listened to Tha Carter III?
On the worst ring music, Khans "Is This The Way To Amarillo" has to take that title (the only world title he'll ever win LOL)
