Thanks for the results. Our guy Tyrone Triplett (Region 2) Pontiac, MI competed at 139 (12-13). Sorry to see him lose. I will have to ask him how it went on Monday.

Do you even need to ask? LOL. Reg 8 with 15 champions. Reg 3 with 11 came in 2nd and I think Region 6 came in with 8 or something like that. Can't remembers. Best boxers for 10/11 was Angel Alba. 12/13 Kareem Martin and 14/15 Jerry Odom. Don't remember other awards.

USABoxing.org has the judging for all 3 days. Pretty interesting in a lot of cases if you saw the bouts:

Day 1 http://usaboxing.org/news/article/9519
Day 2 http://usaboxing.org/news/article/9537
Day 3 http://usaboxing.org/news/article/9545

You mean that our 3 officials were more than those from any other region? Hmmmmm. And just what do you mean by "coincidence?" Over the years there has been talk of realigning Region 8 (to lessen our impact). However, in case ya'll didn't know, the preponderance of boxers competing, or unopposed, come from the Southern California Assn. - "they" would have to realign our LBC in order to cut out the competition. Heh heh. :DD

You did "say" go region 8, not go Southern California Assn! LOL. As a matter of fact I heard no chants for the lbc, only region 8. Your lbc's 3 plus the other 10 from other region 8 lbcs had it covered. I'm joking but we didn't have any officials, While admittedly, our fault- it's still a fact. See you next year!

So catch me on a tech! I'm first and foremost a Region 8 supporter.
Your lbc's 3 plus the other 10 from other region 8 lbcs had it covered.
I know you're kidding..... :?? But my understanding is that there were only 3 officials representing Region 8 - two from my LBC and one from San Diego.

Yeah - I'm not overly fond of coaches who whine about getting robbed but don't send any of their own officials. You're right - it IS your problem. And a sad fact.
See you next year!
Nope - I don't do Silver Gloves. :DD

Oh.....groan! :witzend: That's funny!

I take it you're over the age of 39. :DD

The one and only national SG I worked was in 1989. I was exceedingly sad after watching the then COO assign the mother of one of the boxers to judge his final bout. Any idealistic points of view I had with regard to amateur boxing starting going down hill at that point - and have continued to slide ever since.

Not really. I was just agreeing with DC who said that they can't complain about decisions when their Regions/LBCs are not represented by officials. At least that's what I thought he said.

I only listed the boxers that I had off the bout sheets, Everette. I didn't have any unopposed names but they are on the USAB site.

unattached. trains with Jordan White. He looked real good. He lost to Luna in 2007 Silvers, so that was a sweet victory. I didn't get a chance to see Terence's fight. How did it go?

Don't forget to send me that DVD.

Oh, I know. I hear there is a collective groan when we get there and after we take the team trophy.

One thing I DON'T do is bash. I may tease but I would never disparage any athlete's performance. ;;-)
