I would like somebody to correct the reason of stoppage of Marischa Sjauw's last fight since it's not correct. (again) Today I called the German Board and asked them what the reason was for Marischa Sjauw's stoppage against Heidi Hartmann. First I read on boxrec that it was stopped on cuts and now I read it that it was because of suspected bad general condition.
The controversial but official reason (verify with German board) is :
Not fully oriented and a cut of 2 cm. So don't we go to the scorecards in case we stop it on a cut that occured after an accidental headbut in the 6th? And where did you ever read that a fight was stopped because somebody was not fully oriented?
Now comes the best part: THERE IS NO SUSPENSION. So how bad could it have been?
So there you see once again....no reason for Sturm to complain...in Germany you can't win either. A British reporter on womenboxing.com was quoted saying:
The official reason was a cut to Marischa's left eye but this was not proving at all troublesome and Marcel is in any case sure he heard the doctor use the word "antibiotics" when discussing the situation with the referee. I would add my own comment here. Despite the medication, Marischa was (or should have been) so far ahead on points by the end of the 9th round that some device of this nature was the only way in which Heidi was going to win
