Shawn has looked awesome in his first 4 pro fights 4-0 4KO. Looking forward to his national television debut.

Yeah, he's fighting Friday night in Salisbury, MD with Fernando Guerro and Porter. Not sure what's going to be televised though.

Good rounds for both Shawn and Fernando. Neither got the KO, but that might help them win a fight later on in their careers.

I thought fernando looked pretty damn good. Porter not so much. On a side note what was up with fernando showboating at the end of the fight. He fought a great fight and i thought it was kinda silly to end it by fighting like that in the last round. Who does he think he is roy jones jr?

You would have to know theeee Reeest of the story. The Rosado camp camp came in to town with quite lots of negative comment in our newspaper and TV, but we just kept it real and said we will do our talking in the ring. He listened to a lot of it and had to listen to the whole town saying did you hear what he said. I normally would not tolerate any of that, but under the conditions I felt that he deserved a few seconds to drive home the point that you should not have said those things. The comment were however, great for ticket sales and created a very energetic crowd. I also felt confident that he knew exactly what could get away with at that point in th fight. It was his only jab back for the comments beside what he did in the bout. As for the question about Roy Jones, He was not attempting to imitate anyone , What he did felt natural to him at the time.

Hal - I am not a big fan of showboating, but I was not turned off in the least. It seemed OK under the circumstances. I would say the putting his hands behind his back is taking a little bit too much of a risk. I just always think about Nate Campbell showboating and how it ended for him so I don't recommend it. Good job getting Fernando to mix it up and move his head much better for the second half of the fight. He really dominated the second half.

I get what yall are saying and i hear you how he wanted to get back at the rosado camp. But i think if he kept hammering away at rosado that would make a bigger statement then dancing. I was with a few people last night watching it and they arnt really boxing fans but were turned off by it and were hoping he would get ko'd for acting like that. And on some message boards i read some negative comments also. The only reason i bring this up is because as a young fighter you prolly wanna build your fan base up and doing things like that might turn some people off. But i understand ive been in the ring and sometimes you let the moment get the better of you. I respect the kid and think he is a very good fighter and wish nothing but the best for him.

I mentioned it in another thread but just saw this one -- I live in Salisbury and was at the fight. I have to say the showboating turned me off a lot. If Fernando thinks that's the way to win fans then he's wrong. Quite a few people in the crowd where I was at were commenting negatively about it. And if he thinks that's the way to give an opponent a lesson he's wrong, too. He needs to let his performance in the ring do the talking. It showed a lack of class.
