I think Taylor can be very successful at SM. I was at the second Pavlik fight, and I actually scored by a round to Taylor. If he could have sustained his attacks he would have won comfortably.

I'm going to assume it was his weight issues that caused these limited attack spurts.

Personally I think at 168 he might be too prolific, accurate and classy for Froch.

It's a good matchup either way. We'll find out if Froch can cut it in America, or whether he's another Brit who looks good and then crumbles on the big stage. I know he's beaten Pascal now, but Pascal himself was untested. Taylor will really tell us how good Froch is. If Froch beats Taylor in a decent fashion a lot of doors should open for him.

If Froch can walk the walk then thats what he needs to do. Shut up about Calzaghe and stop the witty stuff about Taylor (missing persons list crap). All the talking doesnt get him fans, it turns many against him. Taylor has fought in better company than Froch and hes no ducker as Froch suggests he is. Naturally Taylor wants big money fights against names that mean something Stateside so its understandable he isnt exactly overwhelmed by fighting Froch who is hardly known outside his own country. The only thing Froch has in his favour is the WBC belt that may get him the fight. If it does happen Froch will be in the fight of his life, its a level he has never fought at before. If he wins he will become a name overnight, but if he loses it will be very tough to get back on top. Talking about smoking Taylors boots is both hype and rubbish. Taylor knows the business at World class while Froch is still learning about it. I think Taylor can hit a lot harder than Pascal and he certainly knows how to break down an opponents defense, pretty easy in the case of Froch he hasnt any. If Froch fights the same way as he did against Pascal, Taylor will be the first man to drop him.

Maybe not - but I find it sad because "Meaty Mick" looks after his boxers and I am certain he would have been doing everything possible to get a massive fight like Froch v Taylor to the UK - and unfortunately it is the sign of the times that when the huge fights are going to happen it will now always be PPV. Terrestrial TV are getting sunk without trace and I will say it again it is very sad. Boxing is needed on our terrestrial screens and more improtantly at prime time to encourage those who dont have a f*cking clue about the sport to watch it more.

I agree with Spud, Boxing benefits on terrestrial tv. It Increases the popularity of the sport.

Setanta repeat the late night shows better than Sky and ITV thankfully too as I hate late nights.

The promoters constant tv jumping and the bad coverage already has put me off boxing a little bit.

Problem is athletes like Taylor are conditioned to expect TV and promoters to break the bank every time they fight. Considering the calibre of fight, the uninspiring performances v smaller men, he was getting too much for Spinks and Ouma.

American television have been tougher on him - HBO wanted Wright or Kessler (but sadly not Froch) - and Showtime wanted Froch or Glen Johnson but relented, gave into him and almost let him fight Allan Green.

If ppl are gonna support greedy Khan then I'd rather support Froch getting a proper world title fight on PPV. I'd rather see Froch in one real fight that Cook, Khan and Macca in the latest episode.

With Froch having a world title, terrestrial TV can make him popular. However, promoters are reliant on TV money, and ITV can't help egt opponents like Taylor. Also, the German promoters are always getting their fighters ranked, they are crafty buggers and I reckon Froch would be off to Germany for some of his mandatory defences. This would also raise problems surely, i.e. would they send their cameras over to Germany when they wouldn't even go to Jersey for the Hobson show?

I think Froch is better off on Sky. If ITV can't get a Taylor who isn't at a great point in his career, move on.

If Froch goes to the US and beats Taylor, all the boxing politics talk go out the window.

What we'll have is an outstanding British world champion who won the best version of the world title in a classic against a worthy opponent and then, in his 1st defence, ventures to America to beat his mandatory challenger who also happens to be a huge name.

I wish Frochy the best of British, and when Carl retires from the game you won't have too many boxing fans saying he avoided boxer XYZ etc, like Calzaghe did. Joe has just retired and there seem to be negative comments than positive. Froch looks like he wants to avoid this happening and beating Taylor in the US is an excellent way of going about it.

As always, I'll believe this fight happens when I see Froch and Taylor in an American ring, but should this match materialise, answer me this :
