Just as the title says- have there been any fights outside the UK for the Commonwealth title? Technically it covers a wide area- South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, India, Pakistan, many African nations...
However, the only fights for the commonwealth belt seem to be involving UK fighters in the UK.
I'm sure there were a few in the past.
Lewis V Ruddock? I think the Paul Burke V Felix Bawala rematch was in Africa, although sadly that fight is remembered for the wrong reasons.
Do Commonwealth Title Fights take place outside the UK?

The short answer is 'yes'. Have a look here (choose a division): http://www.boxrec.com/title_search.php? ... &division=
Troy Ross won Cruiserweight title in 2007 in Canada.
Jermain Mackey won the Super Middleweight title in 2008 in Bahamas.
Jackson Asiku won the featherweight title in 2007 in Australia.

Canada host the occasional one, Troy Ross v John Keaton was in 2007.
Tony Booth actually fought in Belguim for the cruiser title, losing to Franco Wanyama.
But yes, most fights for the titles take place over here

I'm surprised we don't see a few more Commonwealth title bouts on African bills, with the winner then defending in the UK. Someone coming over as a defending chapion would, I think, have a lot more credibility than a random challenger.

Didn't Darren Barker defend his title in Canada last year?
Also Junior Witter defended his title against Lovemore N'dou in Los Angeles in 2005 too.

Have there been any Commonwealth title fights in the last few years that didn't involve a British fighter?
