ITV: I was laughing to myself at the post-fight interview at ringside as McAllister just wouldn't shut up. I could see you looking at him thinking 'Thank God I won this or imagine what he'd be like now'? Is that fair comment?

:TU: Good interview, think Prescott has a fight lined up at moment..

Why do you keep repeating this drivel?? and since when have SN been in the habit of offering chunky paydays to rival promoters fighters?

murray should sack hennessy, take the prescott fight, beat him... go for mega bucks fight with winner of barrera/khan for a vacant title

obviously he has to beat prescott first....and god knows if he can cause no one knows rock all about him other than he can whallop

he is defo tougher than khan, but just depends on how hard and how serious prescott is

prescott was a proverty strickened tramp pre khan, now he will have lost some desire cause he proberly got paid more in the khan fight than his rest put together

fornicate the usual hennessey mandatory crap, money talks, and he just doesnt invest in his fighters, and he wont in murray cause the lad cant sell tickets (unlike froch, which toook an age)

I suppose it depends on your definition of chunky, but I concede there probably have been a fair few. It's just not a stereotypical trait and I very much doubt that Murray and Froch have been offered chunky purses for the Khan and Calzaghe fights, not as much as Mick was willing to pay to stage the fight anyway

Why would Warren pay Ferrari money for a Skoda just because Hennessey is offering Porsche money for his Ferrari?

Wasn`t it Khans own team - not Fwanks, that pulled him out of the Thaxton fight at the very last minute?
Sure he gives it `I`ll fight anybody` .. but he always has talked himself up good

I reckon Frank has probably took the flak for alot of fights not happening over the years when it was the boxer that didn't want it

Any evidence of Khan's team rather than Warren pulling out of the Thaxton fight?

Or is this another conspiracy theory?

All I remember is Sports Network making an offer outside of the purse bids and it being turned down (probably because it was crap). Sports Network weren't bothered with the purse bids. I might be remembering incorrectly though so no lawsuits please.

SN dont do purse bids cause the champ gets the majority share of the purse

and when you have a cash cow like khan selling 7,000 tickets and millions of ITV viewers tuning in its abit too much too ask to take the lighter side of the purse when your oppo brings ZERO to the table

i believe Thaxton was offered £125k and turned it down

Sweetscience,
I think its an exaggeration to say SN dont do purse bids.
I can catagorically confirm that they made a very generous bid for the Rhodes v Small fight, but lost out.
I do know recently they've made other British Title bids.

Just how much to you think Prescott got paid to come over from Colombia? I think you are grossly overestimating what kind of payday he got.

Going back to the Hennessy/Warren debate about Hennessy's ego preventing his boxers earning decent pay days, off the top of my head I recall Wayne Alexander/Sports Network turning down about £70k to challenge Howard Eastman. That was a huge offer.

If true it was supposedly a career high payday (according to SN)

I seem to remember Khan being offered £300,000 for the same fight though, which was also turned down and at the time would certainly have been a career high payday for Khan.
