Only seen him fight twice and he seems plenty game enough which for me could well be his downfall, as you said flex he is not a typical Ingle fighter which ultimately could stop him surpassing British level.

Good interview Dan but ~I dont rate McIntosh that highly. There are a lot better fighter coming through than him so I feel he will be lucky to win at most a British title, but yeah I liked the interview.

Tough lad with a bit of attitude that could well go on to get the British. Not sure if he can go that much further based on what I have seen of him so far but fighting Barney should tell us more about him. Barney is an awkward fighter, even Carl Froch couldnt stop him. Difficult fight for McIntosh but a good test to see if he has the potential for more. He has done pretty well to get the English title and if he does manage to stop Barney I think he should get a crack at the Lonsdale belt within a year. I would like to see him fight Toney Oakey if he succeeds with Barney, that would be another good test.

Good gamble this fight, beat Barney and he's well in the domestic mix. Beat him well (something others haven't done) and he can say he's the best in Britian and push for a title shot.

But get beat and at his age where is there to go to rebuild? Very risky esp. being a relative novice. I pick Barney to outwork him, out fox him and jab his way to a points win. McIntosh was blowing out of his arse against Spartacus after a few rounds and Barney will take him into the latter rounds which will be interesting to see how he copes.

He won't stop Barney and he won't become a world champion. Good luck in trying to achieve both though! From what I've seen he's been a bit of a mixed bag. Looked great scoring that knockout in his last fight, but looked very, very ordinary against an out of shape Spartacus.

Let's be real, McIntosh ain't going further than domestic level. I don't even see him winning a British title.

I still don't like McIntosh and I don't think he's got much to offer outside of British boxing.

Cheers Flex, good interview. I've only seen his last 2 fights and I've been impressed considering he's had less than 10 fights. He had abit of sticky patch in the Spartacus fight, but he came through it well and fighting experienced pros like Spartacus early on in his career will stand him in good stead for the future. His record doesn't show that he's a BIG puncher (yet), but going on his spectacular KO of Anderton he could prove to be one.

Barney sorts the men from the boys in the ring, so the fight should tell us plenty about Danny. Danny UD IMO

Flex - As you mentioned Hide, I have to ask, do you ever feel like saying to him, “will you stop stealing my limelight?”
DM - [Laughs] I know what you mean. Everybody keeps saying to me, “I really enjoyed your fight but who’s that p***k that keeps getting in the ring?!” But I’m not a big-head – I’ll let him have his little bit.

As ive said on another thread on here some time back,he thinks hes the big i am....

To be honest there dosent seem a lot a decent Light heavys about at the min,so if Cleverly moves on to bigger things&vacates the british title,he could well win it.....Id back Fry&Bellow against him tho :box:

Having trained with barney i really hope he wins this and gets another shot at the british title. It'll certainly go to the latter rounds at least. He may not be everyone's cup of tea but he is very good at what he does and it is a skill i admire.

tough fight for mcintoshand he deserves credit for taking it - so many have swerved him

there's a very interesting little group forthe futurearound SM / LH with DM, Nathan Cleverly, Tony Bellew, Paul David, \steven McGuire plus the Olympians / top amatuers degale, sutherland, jeffries and groves. could be some great fights in the next two to three years - hope promotors don't screw it up

A lot of you seem quick to dump on a fighter. Surely if he's fighting the likes of Spartacus and Barney, whatever you think of McIntosh he's serious about moving up in boxing. I mean who the heck are we to say "he's going nowhere" when we know little about him?

Wait for the results of the Barney fight before writing someone off so badly.

Bellew is still boxing 4-rounders mate.
