What is Fwank playing at?

Post by doctorboxing »

Why has it not been announced what channel the olympians will be on?

Obviously with Sky, Setanta and the beeb interested, Frank probably thinks he can play hardball and get a great deal.

However, I would have expected it to be signed by now so the channels could start the advertising push hyping up the fighters. If it is signed too late, there wont be enough hype surrounding the show for the "casual" sports fans to tune in. Think how much the beeb hyped up Audley or ITV with Khan.

He will (imo) hawk them around on a fight by fight basis.

He does not have a Khan or Audley ( in the sense that the public really know them).

PLUS - everyone knows he serves up shit!

Here are a few facts:

Sultana announced some time ago that they had signed a deal with would give them exclusive coverage of Sports Network fighters.

They then signed David Haye.

allegedly (not Sports Network, perish the thought!) took his fighters to Sky.

A statement of opinion:

I can't see FW being in a position to play hard ball with either broadcaster at the moment.

But who knows? 8)

I believe a deal was dependent on the TV football contracts, which have now been settled and that was also trying to get some terrestrial coverage, possibly in a highlights capacity.
