I don't understand how the promoters expect to sell tickets outside of the fighter's hometown/homestate.

Taylor has never been a big ticket seller except maybe when he was involve in mega fights (which Froch-Taylor isn't).

Froch isn't going to sell tickets in New York or Florida either.

I guess Showtime is dropping a shitload of money on this fight and the promoters don't need to sell tickets.

Otherwise it doesn't make sense to me.

Taylor has a history of close decisions. It would be a great cock up if Froch were to walk into Taylor's home town for example. Home ref, home judges, and so on. That said, NYC is DiBella territory.

Pre-Pascal I would have taken Froch to smash Taylor but I think that fight with Jean exposes somewhat the claims that Froch has 'world class' power. He landed plenty of times on Jean and even when he was dead tired he never really looked like going down

Come to think of it, looking at the other opponetnst pre pascal what ironed chin, rarely/never been stopped guy has he taken out?

I thought Pascal was beginning to fall apart in the middle rounds. He was looking discouraged and his workrate had dropped off. But when Carl picked up the cut he got some confidence back. I like Pascal's intensity and think he can have a successful career. I would pick him to beat Taylor.

Sorry to keep labouring this point, but if Froch had the wins Taylor his on his record he would have even more to shout about, and more people would listen.

As it stands he has had to climb down and swallow his pride, taking this fight as a virtual challenger. Is the saying 'mouth making cheuqes that the promoter can't cash?'

Respect to Froch for travelling, but I think Taylor wins this one.

I think Froch will win it, and if he does many will find fault with Taylor. Unless Froch freezes ala Woods, this looks like good timing.

Taylor has the better names on the record, but there is something disappointing and listless about him. This fight is about the future, not the past IMO.

Anyway, props to Froch for going to get it. He could rack up home title defences, wait years until he's the man, so that one day in the far future the opponents all come to him.

Regardless, this stands to be one of Taylor's better fights, like the Wright and the Pavlik fights. I don't see Taylor as too harsh a step up from Pascal. Taylor will have to step in a bit to land that quality jab on the taller man. He habitually pulls back, leaving him open to a simple one-two.

I hope Hennessy's attempts at aggressive matchmaking pay off: Froch-Taylor, Murray-Prescott, McIntosh-Barney, Barker-Ouma/Duddy?, Fury-whoever, etc. God knows we could do with some hard matchmaking and some excitement.
