Will Mundine fight a competitive before Sturm?
He must fight either Geale,Bika or SS before he fights Sturm. He would need a solid 12 rd hit out.
Out of those three though he would only beat SS.

Re: Will Mundine fight a competitive before Sturm?
SS and Geale he would beat, Bika is a 50/50 IMO
Re: Will Mundine fight a competitive before Sturm?
Yeah, i think so.
He's having a hip operation and will be out of action for a couple of months.
and from memory the last time he was injured, he had quite a few warmup fights upon returning.
Expect at least 2-3 fights before Sturm.![[icon_e_surprised.gif] :oo](./images/smilies/icon_e_surprised.gif)

Re: Will Mundine fight a competitive before Sturm?
The Boxrec ratings team have been kind to Choc. Rating him No 3 Middleweight in the world because he beat Shannan Taylor seems generous.
Re: Will Mundine fight a competitive before Sturm?
Yeah a fight with one of those three sounds good , i reckon he would go for geale tho cause mundine knows he would be too good for him. Fights with bika or soliman would be the more dangerous options imo.
Re: Will Mundine fight a competitive before Sturm?
Surely he can't fight Soliman again...
A fight with Geale could happen as Geale is beatable...
A Bika fight won't happen as a warm up for a couple of reasons, Bika is too dangerous and I doubt it could happen at middleweight...

Duck the low flying pigs, of course he won't fight anyone decent!
Daman will have said to his old man "round up the usual suspects" and fly me over a bum from Argentina.

Re: Will Mundine fight a competitive before Sturm?
Has he scored a knockout since dropping to middleweight?
Re: Will Mundine fight a competitive before Sturm?
he has only had one fight at MW.....Taylor, and he couldn't knock him out.Brute wrote:Has he scored a knockout since dropping to middleweight?
Re: Will Mundine fight a competitive before Sturm?
His last KO was over the vicious Clavero. Since then he has gone the distance with a virtual who's who of boxing greats in Hamdan, Soliman, Kim, Pintos and Taylor.

Re: Will Mundine fight a competitive before Sturm?
geale is an ideal fight, but going on mundines recent form, it is not a certainty that mundine wins as i once would have thought....
Re: Will Mundine fight a competitive before Sturm?
all world rated boxers, in Hamdan, Taylor and Soliman's case former world top 10.Marlin wrote:His last KO was over the vicious Clavero. Since then he has gone the distance with a virtual who's who of boxing greats in Hamdan, Soliman, Kim, Pintos and Taylor.
dominated each and every fight, won by UD.
Now now, I know you're picking on the smallest of things, opps, Mundine just farted, better make a post of it
Re: Will Mundine fight a competitive before Sturm?
Cmon Jaafar you cant keep on defending these fights. Fair enough he has a couple of these fights but he could have fought Kessler in there, instead he gave back his belt. Mundine has talent but is taking the path of least resistance to get belts. IE Sturm the easiest belt to get at 160.jaafar wrote:all world rated boxers, in Hamdan, Taylor and Soliman's case former world top 10.Marlin wrote:His last KO was over the vicious Clavero. I agree with Ben, I know you are a big Mundine fan, Jafaar, but you can't really believe that Mundine is fighting the best quality of opposition available. After his latest win he is now ranked #3 at Middleweight on BoxRec. These have been his last 9 opponents:
Acosta: Now ranked #18, at the time of their fight his record was 12-1-4 with no notable wins.
Soliman: No complaints here, a world class middleweight and there were doubts about the result of their first fight.
Nievas: Now ranked #69, no notable wins.
Clavero: Now ranked #101, had lost 4 of his last 7 fights, no notable wins.
Hamdan: Now ranked #70, has always lost against world class opposition.
Soliman: Now ranked#13, Mundine had already beaten him twice so why a third time?
Kim: Retired? A solid opponent, although not in Mundine's class. Also not as big as some suggest, half an inch taller than Mundine, formerly fought as a welterweight, and most of his career as a light middleweight.
Pintos: Now ranked #131, has a good record built up by poor opposition.
Taylor: Now ranked #65, has always lost against world class opposition.
Now don't get me wrong, none of the above guys are bums, but apart from the first (actually second) Soliman fight and Crazy Kim, they are hardly the quality of opposition you should expect from a highly talented fighter who wants to be undisputed champion. To be the best you have to fight the best, something Mundine has not done since fighting Kessler three and a half years ago.

Re: Will Mundine fight a competitive before Sturm?
Thankyou, I thought it was worth a try. I actually support Mundine in all of his fights with the exception of when he fought Green. I think he is an exceptional talents and good enough to be P4P top 10, it is just so frustrating that he is wasting his talent by fighting guys who are simply not in his class. After the Green fight I expected great things from Mundine, yet he has continued to disappoint through weak match-making and failing to knock out fighters that he should.nice post jezza
