How Wrong Can You Get? - Lousy Predictions

Post by Slapsie Maxie »

I once bet a friend that Shannon Briggs would be undisputed H/W Champeen

I also bet another friend that Dave "Boy" Green would sort out a certain "Sugar" Ray.

Hold my hand up - pure chump predictions. So bad they smelled on ice

So what was your biggest clunker?

David Tua to beat Lennox Lewis,

David Tua to beat Chris Byrd,

David Tua to beat Hasim Rahman (in the rematch).

Omar Sheika to beat Tony Booth.

Although my lousiest outsider bet (i.e. gave him a chance, but not a realistic one) - Billy Hardy over Hamed.

Omar Sheika did beat Tony Booth. Maybe not on paper, but he certainly won from where I saw it.

Mine was having 15 people in my house for Lewis Vs Tyson, claiming all day, Tyson would KO Lewis in 8 !!!

It was Tyson that got Ko'd in the round I said Lewis would go!!

Thats Boxing for you. You have to live with the aftermath if your wrong. Like the old saying "Boxing can make a total fool out of those who are brave enough to make prediction".

Over a year ago, I thought De La Hoya would beat Hopkins, I don't feel as confident now. But I may still put my neck on the line  His outlook for this fight is perfect, hes totally scared. He may fight the fight of his life, he has too! .........but I'll wait until near fight time before I decide if Im brave enough to still go with this one :D :TU:

I know Briggs was recognised as the "Linear champ". Is that an official title or does it just mean he was recognised as the people's moral champ?

I once predicted that allegedly would do something that wouldn't piss the entire boxing community off. Boy is my face red.

Sorry Hurricane this isnt aimed at you specifically but I gotta take some issue with this, Im not pro allegedly nor an employee of Sports network but lets criticise constructively rather than just takin cheap shots here.
If SN or FW have done something that you dont agree with or think is a bit crap then fair enough, have a go, but FW slating for the sake of it is just boring now I reckon.

Just my two penneth feel free to chastise but I do think criticism should be levelled in relation to something rather than just fw is this or that for no apparent reason.

Fairs fair and all that. :TU:
