I knew all three Hallacy's boxing in Oklahoma City in the mid-1970s. I knew Ned and Mike better than Pat because they were older than Pat, and were turning pro. Ned had several pro fights in Oklahoma City in 1974. Pat had a couple of amateur fights in OKC, if I recall correctly. I don't recall Mike fighting, but he trained with us in Oklahoma City. If you want to know anything specifically, please private message me.

I will tell you that Ned and Mike were great guys, and I liked them both. Ned was very outgoing and friendly. Mike was quieter, more serious, but still a great guy. All three were good fighters, and Ned and Mike had had very successful amateur careers in Kansas, each winning several Golden Gloves and AAU championships.

Addition: Since I posted the above, I've tried to think some more about the Hallacys. Ned, as I said, was a great guy. One of those "Hail fellow, well met" types (to use an old expression). Outgoing and funny. He was also a very slick boxer type. Not much power, but a slick boxer. He made a guy quit between rounds, not because the guy was hurt, but because the guy was incredibly frustrated in his failure to land on Ned and his inability to get his face out of the way of Ned's punches.

I'm having a hard time remembering Mike specifically as a fighter. He was much quieter than Ned. I'm just really having a heard time remembering much about him as a fighter. Nice guy, though.

Pat was a kid when he came down with his brothers to Oklahoma City. I do remember thinking that he was the best of the three. Good boxer-puncher type. If I recall, Pat had a pretty good pro career too, but didn't go as far as I thought he would. He did beat Pete Ranzany in Pete's hometown, however - so he was good enough to do that.

I would really encougage you to make contact with your Uncle Ned. Of course, I knew him 35-years ago and a person can change alot over the years. But I really liked him and, if he is anything like he was back then, I think you'd like him too. He was one of those kind of guys it was hard not to like.
