Enzo's last title fight off cos he wouldnt sign 3 year deal
Enzo's last title fight off cos he wouldnt sign 3 year deal
Enzo got a solicitor and only agreed to a one fight deal, a title fight. There was no way in hell Frank was going to let Enzo win the WBO and walk away with it and join Joe's promotions. Enzo believed the fight was on but it was never going to be. Enzo's purse went from Large to £10K non title fight. 25% of that to Frank, and some to tax man.

There you have it.Looks like Calzaghe Promotions are up and running.
Re: Enzo's last title fight off cos he wouldnt sign 3 year deal
The MEN bill is slowly falling apart. They need to keep Khan Vs Barerra, the cook fight and Hall Vs Pryce, anyhting can change but these are the best fights on the bill.

Re: Enzo's last title fight off cos he wouldnt sign 3 year deal
Dont know if he has sign'd it yet. to get a title fight he will have to sign it. Enzo wasnt happy with all this shit , thats why he thought about and talked with the UFC about getting a deal to do MMA.sweetscience wrote:so has he signed that contract now then ?boxbet wrote:Enzo got a solicitor and only agreed to a one fight deal, a title fight. I think he will get better deals from other promotions. Every promoter in britain and the states will offer him good money and a deal.big lennox wrote:There you have it.Looks like Calzaghe Promotions are up and running.
Re: Enzo's last title fight off cos he wouldnt sign 3 year deal
It'd be risky to jump ship with Calzaghe I feel..Calzaghe is new to promotion and the political side of fighting so I wouldn't do this if I was Enzo!! ![[icon_shame.gif] :shame:](./images/smilies/icon_shame.gif)
Re: Enzo's last title fight off cos he wouldnt sign 3 year deal
Randy Coutour was getting just under $1mill per fight , so good money is possible. Chuck was the highest paid star.

Surely though, they are mates, and know how to cut deals, so might be the most sensible option?
A big loss to wazza's stable thoguh -as Enzo will likely be a world champion again.

That is poor when you look at how many PPV view buys they claim to do, how many tickets they shift and the merch they sell.boxbet wrote:Randy Coutour was getting just under $1mill per fight , so good money is possible. Chuck was the highest paid star.

Surely not David, they taste of saccharine. It's like an aspartame-party in your mouth.
I'll stick with Choco-Malt Ovaltine, ta.

I used to like Enzo but his childish attitude to getting blown away makes my skin crawl.
"I made a mistake at the end of the day"
Sorry to say this Enzo lad, but the only mistake you made, was thinking you had a chance against the great David Haye.
Deserves what he's getting in my eyes.
*awaits critism*
Just bring it, boys....

Enzo's got my respect for taking the fight with Haye, as history as proved there are plenty that won't put it all on the line for a BIG domestic clashDioufy wrote:I used to like Enzo but his childish attitude to getting blown away makes my skin crawl.

Think you've got the wrong Enzo there sg.
Enzo Calzaghe would never say that - Enzo Macc maybe.

I applaud him for that, hence the saying "I used to like him", but when you get beat by a better fighter then you applaud them, not self-wallow.Chambers2 wrote:Enzo's got my respect for taking the fight with Haye, as history as proved there are plenty that won't put it all on the line for a BIG domestic clashDioufy wrote:I used to like Enzo but his childish attitude to getting blown away makes my skin crawl.

Check out the Haye - Thompson post-fight interview for further proof on that.
And SG1985 - what the funk? Read again my son, read again.
"If this goes 12 rounds then Haye will never fight again" - Enzo Calzaghe 2008.
:surprised:

Its a shame for Mac all this.
Mac, Rees and Lockett all seem to be getting punished for Calzaghe's bust up with allegedly

As much as I have an intense dislike for a certain promoter call F rank - f*ck me come to think about it theres 2 of them I can't stand!!!
But lets get to Mr W arren - he is a survivor and he has his Olympians to generate interest and in addition once Khan dispatches MAB and don't kid yourself - Khan will smash an old and unfortuantely slowed down MAB then W arren will still be able to claim the Number 1 spot in this country.
