The prediction league isn't a bad idea because there's a lot of posters here who don't touch the current scene, it's just that the last one in here didn't go very well.
i will give it some thought and speak with quix, it would proberly be a good idea to start a thread and see what regulars want to do, we are new on this turf and dont want people to think we are trying to take over
Best think to do is speak with lawllb or Emerson, see what they say first I'm sure they'll help you out :TU:

thats what i thought that alot of people from here dont check the current scene and the guys have the experience of running one. no hurry on starting it if ye decide to. and also after a few months ye will be better known on the forum.

what happened the last one , did people hijack it or lose interest?

DG missed the deadline to post his predictions so he broke away and started his own prediction league, turned into a bit of a mud slinging competition and the idea was scrapped.

Well that's the short version. :-?

Mrak and myself will discuss it and then get in touch with Lawllb and Emerson and try and get an idea as to whether posters would want a UK boxrec prediction league and to make sure that we are'nt treading on anybody's toes and throwing our weight around etc....

I'm sure that it will happen, if the other posters want it and the powers that be, mods, etc allow us to initiate a league. As Mark says, we would have to open a thread regarding the possibilties of starting a league up and get some feedback and give a few examples of how the league format works, what the rules are etc etc.......But it seems very promising....

You should have a good idea Banjo, because you were part of the league on dogpound....

What did you think to the layout, rules etc and do you think posters would be receptive to it ??

Stik with your usual formula.

As long as you give Spud a role to play it should all go well.

The league we had in here was very similar to the one in dog pound although it was in it's early stages and it was planned to be weekly.

Well seems it was time to be moving on. Not that I really posted much on the doghouse but still. Anyway changed the name, was Rivaltribalrevelrebel over there but decided to go for a change on here to fall in line with the username I use on pretty much everything else.

Think I must be the only one on here who does want Boxingfan over here though.

Prediction league seems to make sense if you guys want to get it up and running. Can’t see it causing too much friction if people on here wanted a prediction league anyway. Best asking and that but it would seem like a good idea. You boys had in nailed and things were ticking along nicely.

Hey, great to see you Rival.......or Deadend as i will now call you :D

This is a great site and start to post more and get more involved, because posters will respond to your posts and threads on here....unlike in dogpound land :-?

The league looks like it could be resurected on here, which would be brilliant and it would be the same format, but with more posters taking part, it would just have more posters in each division and maybe more posters bein promoted and relegated from each division, each month......

Good to see you on here mate, it saves me having to send you a pm :TU:

Mark already did :D

I work 6 days a week 2.30-10 and tend to go to either Sheffield or Manchester of a Monday (my only day off) so it limits the number of posts I can actually make. Will try and make the effort a bit more though.

Welcome to the doghouse crew :TU:

Start a prediction league if you like, why not - though I'd suggest if you want to keep everyone on board keep the weekly list of fights fairly short, and mainstream.
By that I mean, probably best to leave off, say a 4 rounder in Nigeria between Bongo Destroyer and Jukebox Timebomb.

Well no point having that just assume everyone goes for timebomb ko1 :TU:

The way they had it going it was mostly at least fairly big international fights and decent level UK fights. Have to admit though half my picks were courtesy of looking at their records on boxrec.

Thanks mighty warrior, much appreciated mate :D

On the dog pound, the league was a monthly format, where posters put down all of their predictions in one go and then we would calculate weekly and post up the divisions. The average was about 5 or 6 fights a week and it worked well, but i appreciate that some like a weekly laegue, but thanks for supporting the idea.....

It was clearly a flawed system with a bunch of cheating egomaniacs running it, and that is why I was relegated every month

A prediction league would be interesting.

But as mentioned you'd have to give Spudly some token role to play. Perhaps he could be made responsible for the postal votes...

OH dear, just had a post deleted at doghouse, first time ever happened to me. I said that last night I was getting into debate and reading thoughts during and after the Cottos fight over here whereas doghouse generated one thread with one post and one reply.

Said that was a sad indication of doghouse at the moment and Glax deleted it the swine, then PM'd to scold me

Well anyway, quite enjoying it here, lively posting and thus far, not full of the type of morons who frequent boxing chat on doghouse as I presumed would be the case.

One curiosity for older members here - what boxers or boxing insiders are known to post on here? We had several back in the day on doghouse and as this seems the new internet home I am presuming you have our old ones (Bunce, Rawlings to name two) and possibly some other ones too.

Oh and are doghouse guys using same names?
