jennings vs cotto
Re: jennings vs cotto
Anyone to back Jennings is doing so on pure patriotism. If you look at their records and watch them both in action I don't see how he can possibly beat Cotto. I think it will be similar to Lockett- Pavlik, with Jennings able to last a couple more rounds because hes not just going to stand in one place and let Cotto tee off, like Lockett did against Pavlik.
Re: jennings vs cotto
I felt Jennings only real chance was if Cotto was doubting himself after the Margarito fight. With Margarito being done for dodgy handwraps against Mosley, I think even that chance has gone.
Re: jennings vs cotto
No i dont really think anyone can back Jennings just going by both there record's, he's not even got a puncher's chance. But it's boxing so you never know!
Re: jennings vs cotto
I'm backing jennings to get knocked out early, good odds.

Backing Cotto in rounds 4-6 @ 11/5
Re: jennings vs cotto
how do you get a bet between rounds - i didnt know you can get that.
Cotto to knock out jennings 4 rounds.
Jennings gets his 15 minutes of fame, without really earning it despite what he says. He's
treaded water without risking his ranking.

Re: jennings vs cotto
jennings talking big, but he'll run around the ring and the americans aren't gonna aprreciate that non combative style, at all
Re: jennings vs cotto
Yes, I agree. Jennings fitted the bill (apparition) - good record, highly ranked, good talker.sg1985 wrote:well who should cotto have fought after that loss then? who has earned it? i dont think its a case of jennings earning it rather than cotto's team trying to take an easy opponent in his first fight back after quite a damaging lossberealman wrote:how do you get a bet between rounds - i didnt know you can get that.

What I mean is the WBO ranking is ridiculous (Boxing News agree). As a lifelong boxing fan,
I believe you should earn your contender status by who you fight and not by who you DON'T fight - standards are slipping, are they not?

Rounds 4-6 as well. Fancied the between rounds rather than round prediction.berealman wrote:jennings talking big, but he'll run around the ring and the americans aren't gonna aprreciate that non combative style, at all
Also, as predicted, Jennings ran round the ring scared to engage. I got mixed messages because he kept trying to get back up, but kept a very safe distance which seemed very non-committal to me.
Its confirmed, that Jennings, is just past british title level. He'd have been out of there much quicker if he hadn't got on his bike.

Re: jennings vs cotto
i think we knew the score, as much as we wanted jennings to win, we knew basically theres a far cry in class between a british domestic level fighter to a worldclass level fighter. jennings was outmatched, but theres no shame in that, and atleast cotto got five rounds and jennings was'nt a one round blastout.
