Jim Grey...
Jim Grey...
I have found every time he interviews a fighter after a fight...
he seems annoying.
He has no patience with the fighter, almost looks down at them.
How did he get this job ?
Whats he doing now?

Re: Jim Grey...
think Gray is still with Showtime. he can be one ignorant little pr_ck thats for sure. it was great when kostya tszyu told him "please do not be rude to me" during one of Gray's pushy interviews.
i do give him credit for standing up to holloway, horne and tyson after holyfield-tyson II. trying to interview these nutjobs in the dressing room area couldn't have been easy. im surpirsed he wasn't knifed by any of the maniacs running around screaming. he may have won a sports emmy or something like that for the coverage.

He's also the same prick that chose to challenge Pete Rose about his gambling at a tribute event of some sort, and the next day the rest of the ballplayers wouldn't talk to him.
And James Toney knocking the microphone out of his hand was classic.

Re: Jim Grey...
but in the case of the pete rose interview, gray took a shit kicking for questioning rose's integrity etc, asking him to admit betting on baseball. Rose basically says he's not going to apologize for something he's never done and gets alot public sympathy. THEN....5 years later he publishes his book My Prison Without Bars and admits to betting on baseball. I'd rate Rose the bigger A-hole in this instance.

Re: Jim Grey...
Of course Rose is the bigger joke. I wasn't suggesting he wasn't. He lied for 20 years. But with the Jim Grey interview, it was so painfully out of place in an event celebrating other baseball players, it was cleary a dickhead move. Time and place.turn2stone wrote:but in the case of the pete rose interview, gray took a shit kicking for questioning rose's integrity etc, asking him to admit betting on baseball. Re: Jim Grey...
He seems to have gotten a bit 'aloof' recently but, like turn2stone mentioned, Grey showed some class and some nads after Tyson - Holyfield (2).
I don't think he's any worse than than Merchant and his mindless meandering monologues.
And he's gotta be better than that buffoon Kellerman who has absolutely no rapport with the fighters at all.

some times I like Merchant and then other times he annoys me...
he seems to always be looking for that gorious sound byte or
quote.

Doves cry, Robinson laments, & EJ laughs...
...but, in the end, Grey remains a pudendum. A smug-beyond-belief, servile little...

Re: Jim Grey...
Grey is a damn prick. I hate on how he tries to make some of the hispanic fighters speak English when they can barely grasp the language or can't articulate a secondary language after 12 rounds of fighting!
I loved it when Toney smacked the mic off his hand! I remember my family members calling Toney names, I laughed and said: "Jim Grey is a constant prick, he deserves it!"
