Frankie Gavin
Re: Frankie Gavin
No one has any more in-put on the points raised?
Re: Frankie Gavin
Gavin's lifestyle has been an issue in the press ever since he didn't make the weight in the Olympics.
There has been lots of speculation, but no one seems willing to state their case on it.
It's either a big secret or a load of bollox

He seems a likeable guy, obv FW isn't gonna put an unbiased piece in though!BIGMARK wrote:i'm not sure if anyone saw this but allegedly allegedly TV are doing a 24-7 type thing on Gavin as he builds up to his first fight. its going to 9 parts and this is part 1:

i will let you make your own minds up what you think of him.
Re: Frankie Gavin
I'm going to reserve judgement on Gavin until he's been a pro for a year or so. It's hard to gauge how much pop a fighters got until he's really sitting down on his punches.
I know nothing about the lads personal life and hopefully I won't have to read anything in the papers anytime soon.

Very nice kid, brilliant talent. Was apparently sent to Manchester to get him out of Birmingham and away from his crowd.

Why does it matter so much to people if you've boxed or not?
Dont think bert Sugar has a pro record, yet he knows a fornicating load more than most ever will.

some people think unless you have boxed then you dont have an opinion. Idiots.Wales wrote:Why does it matter so much to people if you've boxed or not?

Re: Frankie Gavin
Perhaps if he did move to Manchester to get away from his crowd he did need to get his lifestyle in order, but while there is plenty of rumours flying about, nothing has been substantiated.gobbles wrote:Very nice kid, brilliant talent. If he is taking a proactive response to have a successful career, he has to be applauded for that
Re: Frankie Gavin
Looks good on those pads. I know it doesn't always translate to the fight when someone is hitting back, but you can see some nice technique. Hopefully all these new prospects we've got pull through. It will be exciting times if they do, especially at super middle and light heavyweight.

Re: Frankie Gavin
very good amateur with the amateur in out style, but we'll have to see what he's like as a pro, it's a complete different ball game.
the amateur is moving further away from the pro game, which is why we're starting to see successful amateurs, not becoming no where near as successful as pro's like they used to.

Re: Frankie Gavin

Thread locked. Punishments in the post.
Re: Frankie Gavin
Frankie Gavin is a top lad, I spoke to him a few days ago. He also has decent snap in his punches.
