Re: Reg Gutteridge interviewing Chris Eubank
When faced with adversity Eubank always struck.. at a speech i attended he said it is an unknown fact that the closest he came to being knocked out in his life was against Johnny Melfah at the Albert Hall nd Melfah also knocked some of his teeth out before Eubanks 'animal instinct' kicked in and he didnt even plan or remember the KO.. he broke Melfahs jaw flattening him with a shot he says was strength through reaction over technique..

That's funny because I thought it was Melfah who lost teeth from Eubank's KO shot. Maybe it was a double dental disaster.Greg Nicholas wrote:When faced with adversity Eubank always struck.. at a speech i attended he said it is an unknown fact that the closest he came to being knocked out in his life was against Johnny Melfah at the Albert Hall nd Melfah also knocked some of his teeth out before Eubanks 'animal instinct' kicked in and he didnt even plan or remember the KO.. he broke Melfahs jaw flattening him with a shot he says was strength through reaction over technique..

Chris said first he nearly got KOd by Melfahs right hand, seeing bright flashes.. then he felt teeth loose in his gumshield after a left hand.. 'animal instinct' was already taking over he wanted to jab and box a few rounds and showboat to show Don King what he could do but had no control over sparking Melfah out..

I thought he won the Eubank-Collins I fight, the knockdown at the start of round 10 following Ronnie Davies' slap (
DD ) swinging it.
But Collins did thoroughly outwork him for the most part.
