No, what i mean is ideally i would hope that a boxer would have those kind of fights gain valuable experience, so the jump in quality isnt as massive and they don't find it as shocking. But i understand this doesn't always happen as in the case of Lockett and Jennings. They went from domestic and trialhorse europeans to genuine pound for pounders. As for Kell, i can't any longer speak for him on behalf of his career, but he is a genuine talent that could be put into those kind of superstar fights. However, i would really hope that he does get the fights to take him through the grades. To be fair, now he has the title, there is the opportunity to make good fights for him.
McIntyre was in most people's eye's the 'real champion'. So you can't knock that match. But i think guys like Matthew Hatton and Mutley are good fights for him where he learns things. O'Donnell is another kid that would be a test and a great learning fight.So there are guys out there who have 100% belief in their abilities and are good fighters. These are all fights where you can't bank on who's going to win really, which is what will get him a huge following should he come thru..Thats just domestic, then the euro route has one or two guys before a charge to world titles. Like you say, he is young, very young and can become a very very good fighter without rushing, but without wasting time against the wrong opponents.
But thats just my opinion.
