RISEN: The film being made about Howard Winstone
Hi Chaps, I'm one the of the guys who joined after it all went a bit tits up over at doghouse.
I'm also the film-maker behind RISEN about the amazing life of Howard Winstone.
Please check out the films website http://www.howardwinstone.com or my production companies website http://www.burnhandfilms.com to find out more about it.
I'm a massive boxing fan the doghouse lot will agree to that.
There are ops for people to get involved in the film, so check it out.
Some big names attached including Barrera, Maccarenelli, Alan Minter, Brian Blessed, John Noble, Steve Robinson and many more.
Be great to have your guys feedback
Cheers

Totally off topic, but it say's on imdb you moved to America to become a preacher. That's a bit different. What brought that about? Being a nosey bastard.
Also, says on your film 'The Lost' got almost no funding, did you get much help this time around? I can only imagine how difficult it must be to get funding for a film project.

Yes I did go to theology school in the States, don't practice Christianity at all now though.ArtOfWar wrote:Totally off topic, but it say's on imdb you moved to America to become a preacher. That's a bit different. What brought that about? Being a nosey bastard.

The Lost was an experimental film shot in 48 hours! It did really well on the festival circuit and has made some nice money from royalties of DVD sales (MAINLY DUE TO THE PETER CUSHING LINK), but personally I was disapointed with it if I'm honest.
Risen budget is about £250,000 we've filmed most of it but do need investment now to finish. It promises to be a success financally so I'm confident it'll all go smoothly.

Funding? For a £100 can I have a walk on part please mate? You know you want to. I can be the janitor in the backround somewhere, or the guy standing in a pub scene with some hot chick. You supply the chick of course.

Neil, Outwith Howard winning the title, what is the basic story of your movie? I think I asked you before but never got a reply.
I'm curious.

Re: RISEN: The film being made about Howard Winstone
The plot basically starts when Howard lost three fingers on his right hand when he was a boy, then it's his journey from that tragic accident to developing his boxing style with just the left hand to the world title. Lots of sub plots including his personal life and his dealings with trainer Eddie Thomas (an amazing trainer) and the various promoters of the day.Jon Saxon wrote:Neil Jones Jnr wrote:Anyone who wants to be in the crowd for the fights is more than welcome. So it's more of a period piece?
The imparment is a good angle also.
I look forward to seeing this, best of luck with it.
