A good read as always Danny. It's good to see that Martin is one in a long line of people that has been 'saved' by boxing (as well as by his family and himself). It sounds like he's got his head screwed on and that he's got a stable life now, looking forward to seeing him in the British title mix in what's a very good domestic division. I agree with Martin that Darren Barker is the best of the bunch

I agree Alex. When I do these interview, I like to get boxers who have been through big things in their life aside from boxing – going off the rails, prison, illness etc – as they (usually) make it a more uplifting experience.

Another good interview, I like this series. Thought Murray looked very good on prizefighter (the first time I had seen him) and looked to have plenty of skills and fitness for someone who has only been 6 rounds and everybody loves someone who has turned their life around.
Middleweight is a good division domestically at the moment with Macklin, Elcock, McDermott, Barker and Murray, hopefully Smith can still come good with a few wins and Thirwell is talking a good fight. Lets hope we see more of these fights happen then not.

Thirlwell IS talking a good fighter but actions say he is fighting James Tucker on Saturday. A good fighter Thirlwell, would be nice to see him build up a bit of momentum.

Fair play to Martin. Prison can sometimes turn a man's life around and make him realise the mistakes he was making. Good to hear a success story.
