I think he's definitely got the ability to be a British champion but you can't just get by on ability alone, you need the drive and desire to achieve it and whether Tyson has that remains to be seen, too early to tell yet.

I think it has more to do with the Hennessy press team, most of their press releases are very similar, churning out the usual stuff and just attributing the comments to anyone of their fighters

i went with British but really dont know, i just read he has done an interview with Buncey for tomorrows boxing hour. here is a bit i took off the eastside site:

In an interview on this Thursday’s Steve Bunce Boxing Hour on Setanta Sports News Fury said that Haye stood no chance at heavyweight, calling the Hayemaker a “baby”. He said: “David Haye is a cruiserweight and he’s not a big man. He’s 6’2” and 15 stone. I’m 6’9” and 18 stone, that’s a real heavyweight.
“In a couple of years David Haye won’t stand a chance. That’s if he gets past Klitschko.”
A confident Fury said that Haye would stand no chance if the two were ever to clash in the ring. He added:
“It would be no contest to be honest. I know that’s a bit big headed but I’m improving all the time. So in another couple of years I’ll be at his level. So we’ll see if the fight happens.”

Tyson is a very raw talent with an awful lot to learn, but he is only 20 years of age and has a lot of time on his hands, which is to his advantage. I think that we will be able to gauge where he is in abou 18 months to two years time, has had 15 or so fights and is ready to challenege for the British title. At that stage, i would like to see him up against the likes of Sprott, Williams, Rogan and Harrision, because whilst this is the old guard of British heavyweight boxing, they would represent a considerable challenge to Tyson, in particular Sprott and Williams.

Tyson has to change his trainer and put his father on the back burner, as i'm sure will happen in the next 12 months or so. He needs to be trained by professionals, who can work on his fitness, conditioning and technique. He has looked impressive so far, but that is against very bad journeyman, who are one up from the punch bag in the gym and so tell us very little. Let's wait and reserve our judgements, both good and bad, for another 18 months and allow Tyson to mature a little, gain some experience, work on his technique, hone his fitness and then we will have a better idea of his potential.

If he continues at his current rate of progression in terms of opponents he'll be contesting a World title in hi 7th fight. I've only seen him fight twice against people I haven't seen before, so it's way way too early to say, but if he's got the chin that Sir Mick of Meaty says he has and he's got a good engine then he's gonna be a handful when he's abit more refined IMO

Maybe Euro. He doesn't look to have a great deal of power to me. That German bloke he fought last time out didn't ever look hurt by anything he threw, and ended getting stopped because he wasn't throwing anything back but he never looked like going over despite Tyson landing with some big shots.

For him to be talking about Haye is a joke. He wouldn't get past the first round.

By the time Tyson is looking at world honours, Vitali will be gone and possibly Wlad as well - what young up and comers are there in this division? We just do not know what the scene will look like in a few years time but if he continues his progression then there is no reason why he cant be up there.

i believe Price out boxed Fury quite easily befroe the olympics but for some reason in general Price is getting over looked and the man won a Bronze.

yep I think Price easily bear Fury in the amateurs but I think Fury is suited to pro boxing. I think he looks naturally bigger than Price and more powerful, although we wont know for certain until both are a fair way down the line

The average age for top heavyweights (I hope that's not considered an oxymoron in today's climate) is 32. I think Tyson could do with a few years of learning. Realistically, I think he turned pro too early, but now it's done, surely it's best to take a gradual learning curve as he's so inexperienced?

No need to rush him whatsoever. They should be looking for say British title fights by a certain age rather than a certain number of fights. Keep his busy with a fight a month or so and get him some much needed experience and time to develop.

Maybe but if he can learn to keep people on the end of his jab then he could get somewhere without needing too much knock out power, just a powerfull enough jab to keep people at a distance. I assume he has a really long reach to go with the height.

That graph really does show a lack of effort from our 0-15 year olds. 8) I guess the person that constructed it must have fallen into that age bracket.
