I'm actually dissapointed - I would rather Nelson finish by fighting Enzo than May (which will be dull).

I thought Sky were building up Nelson vs Enzo nicely, and after watching the show I had a buzz for that match, similar to that of Hatton and Witter. I would have rather seen Nelson unify, but as this is not happening - let Nelson show himself against some of the next generation.

Didn't sound like he was retiring on Saturday Night.

Reeso, I'm not surprised at this - Sky seemed to be mentioning alot of a non-sky fighter, which I did finding strange.

Reeso, u back after that crap on saturday. Very novicey everbody said so should of have had better fights on the way through instead of Dave Clarke n Tony Booth, couldn't knockout the number 73 175lbs in the world.
The Nelson fight ain't gonna happen coz Nelson will obviously kick Crappas arse and a bett ya Hobson/Hayes teams don't get phone calls to fight for that WBullsh!t title. We'll c a bet it just ends up a procession of non entities from Europe. Still Jim Watt n the team did say Crappas only 23 so the million things that he ain't got now hes got tym to learn em.Oh by the way av you got that tape with Crappa doin 3 hard rounds for me yet unless your countin that from Saturday.

Well Cantatore couldnt stop him either he was a very awkward opponent defensivly, enzo has fought some good opponents, as you say about this three hard rounds business he has just made them look bad if you check out there records you can see that fighters higher up than macca have struglled with these guys such as;
Bruce Scott lost to Nelson on points as macca ko him in 4 that was tuff three rounds as you say.
Earl Morais distance with rothman macca first round stoppage, to name just a couple,
Tell me three hard rounds Haye has had appart from when he nearly got ko by that middle weight
I was personally speaking to nelson in the week and saturday he informed me that macca would be king of the division for some time to come, as he did say on sky, are you saying you know more than these guys

Do any of you lot know the first thing about boxing?

Enzo Macc boxed a very controllled and text book fight and didn't lose a round in my book. The opponent was tough and his record showed that he was extremely durable. Enzo tried some combinations he hasn't done beofre and mixed up his shots well. A criticism would be that he should have stepped in and landed some more bombs on the Belguim but hey, if he had done a quick job on him, you would have called Abdoul a bum.

This guy iEnzo s the future of this division and will rule for some time and move onto bigger and better things - wait and see.

As for Nelson, I see a Steve Collins/Joe Calzaghe type scenario. If Enzo gets too close to Nelson he will retire rather than get whupped by a younger and harder hitting man. Make no mistake Johnny is the man to beat and the extra weight, come September, will favour him more than Enzo but I feel in the back of his mind, openly praising the Welshman and being a public fan of his will just ensure he won't have to face him before retiring - fair play, he's paid his dues and deserves to go out on top.

David Haye and Hobson, incidently seriously pissed and in a Cardiff lap dancing club on Friday night, would both get smashed by Enzo. Neither would take the fight and I hear both have alrady turned down the offer to their respective camps.

Enzo will succeed Nelson as the #1 Cruiserweight. Forget Haye, he's going nowhere and will crumble within 12 months or the first time he cops one clean on the whiskers.

LOL, forget Haye he'll crumble when he gets hit on the chin? You seem to forget your man Maccarinelli has been knocked out before and was down against Bruce Scott. I highly doubt Haye would turn down a fight with Enzo. I like Enzo but he is still pretty upright and mechanical. I'd really fancy Haye if the two fought. Also Haye's still beat a better opponent than Enzo has in Arthur Williams. You disagree? Bring Arthur back over to fight Enzo then. Haye has clearly the more potential. Warren would jump at the chance to sign David Haye.

Left Hook, agree with most of what you say - although I think at the stage in their career I'm not sure that Arthur Williams was better than Bruce Scott. Yeah, his record (even his recent record) was alot better but he had reached the stage where he could go overnight. I think he reached that when he faced Haye. Not blaming David or saying that they knew this. However, I would have but Bruce Scott in with that Williams and predicted a Scott win.

The fact that Macrinelli has faced more higher ranked opponents (i.e. Delaney is alot better than anything Haye has faced, Williams excluded) and the fact I don't believe Williams was any better than Scott is the reason why I don't rank Haye above Enzo at this juncture.

Everything else in the post I agree with.

Some valid points you need to rconsider:

1. Arthur Williams was totally shot. Haye might not have known it but you can be damn sure his Matchmaker did. Bring him back over for Enzo, why?

2. David Haye ducked Delaney and gave up his English title when he was ordered to face Scott. Ambition? I don't think so.

3. Haye and Adam Booth begged Warren to sign him but didn't want to fight anyone but still wanted top money. Ambition? I don't think so.

4. Enzo screwed up against Swaby early on but learned an important lesson from it which is positve. Scott hit him hard and he got up from it and replied accordingly. He has a good chin and can dig. Haye would crumble and I would have a large bet with anyone on this fight, if it ever happens.

5. Ernie Fossey persuded Warren to sign Enzo up. Was he a bad judge, NO!

You would, you're from Huddersfield. Do you have six fingers?

Bit blinkered, understandable he's probaly a pal of yours. Still least you can help pick him up of the canvas.

Incidentally, ask him if he enjoyed the lap-dancing club and copious amounts of booze he got down his neck on Friday night.

That's the way to live the life of a pro fighter. He will get found out. Tick Tick Tick...

Xtremebox, good points

1) Agree.

2) Wasn't it Delaney who said he had measles and was rumoured to be struggling to make the weight, perhaps I'm wrong.

3). Don't know - I don't think you have any reason to be telling us fibs.

4). Mainly good points, although I don't think he can be classified as having a good chin - I don't think its been tested enough since the questionmarks have been raised.

5) Very true

I still don't think Scott was a better opponent than Arthur Williams was. Williams twice not that long ago took cruiser contender O'Neill Bell to the late rounds and was winning until he got KO'ed late. Not many people stopped him in his career. When he did throw a punch it wasn't half bad. He just got a bit gunshy because of Haye's unconventional style and probably rumours that Haye could bang. Roy Jones opponents punch output also went down when they faced him because of his unusual style and fear of getting hit. Not that im trying to compare Haye to Jones. Williams hands still seemed pretty fast when he did throw them. He was hardly completely shot. Williams was a damn good opponent for 10th pro fight.

Also their have been rumours of Haye trying to get Cantatore next which would be very dangerous. One things for sure, he not going to be in his 25th fight before he steps it up another level unlike Enzo. ( I don't dislike Enzo, I just think Haye's better and will achieve more).

By the way xtreme, whats your opinion of the way Joe Calzaghe's careers been handled. The way all his talent has been wasted fighting the Mger Mkerchians and Tocker Pudwells of this world. The Glengoffe fight falling through is just the iceing on the cake really. A shocking waste of talent, Joe's career will be over without him having a defining fight. Thanks Frank.

Rickys going the same way. Almost too the letter.

I have mixed feelings about Enzo's performance. On the one hand he's shown he can go twelve no problems and maintain a steady (if a little slow) tempo without losing sharpness, speed or snap and his body looked a little better so I guess they're doing something in the gym that's getting rid of that layer of flab. Also he kept his focus and a high guard which perhaps shows Scott taught him a lesson. On the other hand; though the opponent looked defensively adept and fought negatively, I think he exposed in Enzo a lack of offensive creativity, a lack of ability to use/create different angles. Enzo was hitting him (or trying to) hard enough to make me think he was trying to break him down but he kept on trying the same couple of things that weren't really working over the twelve rounds.
Also on the negative Enzo has very poor footwork, the Belgian was constanly able to step around him to get off the ropes.

I would favour Haye if they fought but I really wouldn't be all that confident, imo Haye is much nearer to being the finished article but Enzo could definately knock him out in any round (and vice versa of course).

Enzo beat a light-heavyweight in his last fight. Abdoul came into the fight having just fought at 12st 7lbs.

Hang on a minute. Williams had recorded some decent victories and had given O' Neil Bell a serious run for his money, not the mark of someone who is totally shot, though of course he may have had one fight too many.

As for Haye avoiding Macca, or anyone else for that matter, I have heard very different stories about this, which I won't go into here, suffice to say there are two sides to every story. Anyone who wishes to know can PM me, and I will give a rather different account of what transpired there.

As for Haye being pissed, so what? Calzaghe was spotted staggering around the carpark, and was pissed out of his mind before he even started the evening, I know this because mates of mine were there at the event. Calzaghe has even admitted previously that he likes a piss up. So don't use that as a stick to beat Haye with. Roberto Duran loved a piss-up and chang, and Chavez, Pryor and Arguello all liked a party, so lets not get carried away.

It seems clear that you have it in for Haye, and refuse to see any flaws in the fighters your trumpeting. Unlike Macca, Haye hasn't been knocked out, and Macca also got heavily decked against Scott. Haye got careless once against Mock, and whilst he doesn't appear iron-chinned, Macca is hardly the second coming of Evander holyfield.

It's not ideal, but it's a matter of being in shape most of the time that matters.

I am a good pal of Delaney and also chat with haye when i see him.

Haye didnt duck Delaney, Delaney had shingles and had to pull out.. No one ducked anybody end of story.

I also feel had Enzo not been a home fighter against Scott it would have been stopped.... The ref clearly looked after him and gave him a long recovery and benefit of the doubt

That's pure BS. Haye's not in it for the money, but the glory, and then with that comes the financial rewards. He could have the cartoon promotions and gimmick that Froch has to hype him up and make more money, but instead lets the fists do the talking. He showed against Williams he IS willing to take risks, and you'll see that in his future bouts.

Williams may of been past his best, but as James points out, gave some top 10 guys a little trouble, and is proven as being very durable. Haye blasted him out in 3 rounds! It's easy to say he's 'shot' because of his age, and how well Haye performed.....he made him look old.

Yes, Micky Vann to the 'house' fighter's rescue again (think of Hatton-Magee, round two).

PS: since winning the WBU title last year against Bruce Scott, Enzo has fought men who wouldn't have beaten Scott (indeed, Scott had stopped Garry Delaney). Enzo's going backwards in other words.
