I must admit I have heard from several boxing people, that Lewis wasn't that keen to face either Bowe or Tyson in their primes.
I have to say, that the early version of Lewis would have been relatively easy fare for Tyson, provided of course Tyson wasn't shit scared of him. Lewis' defence and balance were pretty poor as a young heavyweight, but his unbelievable speed, physical strength and power carried him through.
The early version of Tyson with the head movement and ability to close the gap would have been under the jab and into the ribs in a flash in my opinion.
I also think that Bowe's jab would have made it very difficult for Lewis, because Lewis was ineffective if he couldn't land the jab. Mercer outjabbed Lewis for large portions of their fight, and I think Bowe's jab was a little more consistent than Lewis' Despite the fact that Bowe didn't want to fight Lewis, I think there was a case to say neither was that keen to face the other. I've heard reports and contra reports on this.
I do rate Lewis, because he maintained his peak over such a long period of time.
