Anyone know why Moore is such a huge favourite v Piccirillo?
??
Is Piccirillo that shot? How did he look vs Vernon Forrest? He's hung with a few world class guys, and Moore isn't that level.

I think Moore is favourite because he is on the up and picc is not.Riddick Blowe wrote:??

Plus - JM is a natural lt middle and picc is due to age.
Moore 8-4 in rounds!
Re: Anyone know why Moore is such a huge favourite v Piccirillo?
Piccirillo had a struggle against Michael Jones a few years ago - he can't have got better, and Moore proved himself better than Jones.
Incdiently, has Jones retired?

Bookies must think Piccirillo is on the slide. Also factor in that the fight is in England. I also thought Moore would not be such a huge favourite. I like Moore to win but Piccirillo has beaten Spinks, been a solid Euro operator beating some decent guys like Konecy and Jones, went 11 with Forrest and the full route with Mayorga. He is 39 though - that's the only thing.

Yes - also because he is World Class.
Why is it so hard to believe he is favourite?
He is not fighting a peak SRL.
Piccs good - but he will lose this fight.

Na he should be the favourite that's not what Riddick's saying. Its just the odds are proper wide i.e Moore is a big favourite. My bookies make Moore a 6 to 1 on favourite. That's pretty wide considering on paper Piccirillo is Moore's toughest opponent to date.DG. wrote:Yes - also because he is World Class.

Anyone? It could be because they think Jamie is clearly the better fighter and he's on hometurf or it could be because the bookies know the BIG UK market will more than likely be backing Mooresy

Re: Anyone know why Moore is such a huge favourite v Piccirillo?
Correct. Can someone also inform me when Moore proved he was 'world class' please, thanks. Moore is highly unlikely to have been able to hang with Mayorga for the distance, last that long against Forrest, or be competitive vs Spinks, so the question is how shot is Piccirillo and the answer widely seems to be 'considerably'.black panther wrote:Na he should be the favourite that's not what Riddick's saying. Re: Anyone know why Moore is such a huge favourite v Piccirillo?
the right Moore needs to turn up - and I expect will do. Not the one that struggled with Facey 2.
generally (heavy weights aside) if you're boxing at 39 chances are you're a fitness freak.
bout 3 year ago you could have said Michael Jones will win this cos Pic's 36
I would lean toward Moore but my money will be staying firmly in my pocket. Prizefighter learnt me my lesson!

He lost to Jones on a DQ and beat him twice, and against Duran his hip went.....Riddick Blowe wrote:anything he has done to prove this, or is it just your opinion?
Moore is tough, has a good chin, good power and is a stylish boxer when he wants to be.
He is durable and I'm sure will be in great shape for this. I'm not discounting MP but I think Jamie will win a decision.

if you think Piccirillo is too big - then have a bet on him.
I think Moore will knock him out.

Re: Anyone know why Moore is such a huge favourite v Piccirillo?
For the record, I think Moore will win as well and by late stoppage. But its not an easy fight, as I'm sure Jamie will agree. Piccirillo is a tough customer. The odds on Moore to win imply Moore will win at a canter and its an easy fight. Which it isn't. That's all the point is.fatman wrote:if you think Piccirillo is too big - then have a bet on him.

Put another way, Skelton is the same odds to beat Rogan as Moore is to beat Piccirillo. I personally think Skelton will have an easier time with Rogan, than Jamie will with Picirillo. Oh eff it I give up!
Good luck Jamie!

Re: Anyone know why Moore is such a huge favourite v Piccirillo?
I agree that it would seem like stylistically Moore is all wrong for Piccirillo, but it seems like if the Italian lasted with Mayorga, Moore must surely be a step down, regardless of Picc having slipped? (I didn't see that fight) On the other hand, since Picc doesn't punch hard it would look to be a distance fight and his age will make that style difficult for him overnight against someone with the pressure of Moore.
To me anyway, the odds should surely be more like 1/3 Moore 11/4 Picc.

Re: Anyone know why Moore is such a huge favourite v Piccirillo?
What is it, 12 months since he went 11 with Forrest, 24 months since he beat jones?
Should eba good fight, but this is a fight Jamie has been waiting for for the best part of 3-4 years! He's going to be at his absolute peak. He wasd eflated when he fought Facey and he's just been ticking over in hsi keep busy fights. I expect a Moore better and more fired up than the one that beat Macklin. Jamie to eventually break the italian down quicker than forrest did, in 9, maybe.

Re: Anyone know why Moore is such a huge favourite v Piccirillo?
I hope Mooroe wins. he deserves far more recognition than he's recieved to date.Only the hard core fans know of him, and that's a shame. Imagine if he's fight with macklin had been live on ITV1.People would still be talking about it in the pubs now.
Re: Anyone know why Moore is such a huge favourite v Piccirillo?
I def consider Moore the favourite, sometimes Italians don't travel well but I would certainly consider him a live one, not a bad outside bet if the odds are right
