What does anyone think of this Canadian southpaw? Very crafty, good defence, throws surprising punches. I think he was the Commonwealth champion at one time. Didn't I see his name on the Hennessy website as well - does Mick have a piece of him?
He's doing well in the cruiserweights contender, knocked out former contender Feli Cora Jr in 1 round, TKO'd this Tuaussa bloke in two. Though 33 he has some decent speed and nice moves. Are we likely to see him in the UK again, any chance if he wins Contender - and he's surely the fave to win - that he might fight Macca for the WBO belt (if Macca gets by Olaf whatsisname and Ramirez)?

I've been watching this series of the contender and i'm very impressed by him. I was surprised i've never heard of him. He is very slick, accurate and patient. He boxes until he sees the opening and then lowers the boom. If he wins the final looking just as good he should be thrown in at title level immediately as there's not much depth at CW.

He has really good skills, power and an excellent attitude. He's a really likeable guy as well. I'd love to see his loss to Herring to know whether the result was just or not. Ross might come unstuck if he fights someone good who he can't knock out. He's worthy of a title shot.

Didn't he KO Buster Keeton for the Commonwealth belt? I thought at one point that Mick had a bit of him but then he just disappeared.

Didn't Ross only used to box part-time when he wasn't acting? I think I saw him on a show at the Ally Pally once, but Hennessy has some sort of strange deal with Canada, that's why Barker boxed out there.

Ross did have a couple of years off in his career, and has been in 3 films. John henry lewis in CINDERELLA MAN, Floyd Patterson in PHANTOM PUNCH, Young Champ in RESURECTING THE CHAMP.
I hope he wins Contender as he's in the finals this Friday or Saturday. Hopefully winning the series might fast track him into a world title shot. Obviously Contender's got less profile now, being on Versus channel. But Ross is a 1996 & 2000 Olympian, he's won Canadian and Commonwealth titles, he's played big name boxers in the movies. he has the ability I believe, he has the interesting gimmicks in his career. Looks like a really talented boxer and hopefully his career can atually go somewhere.
