OK, I look forward to reading it when you come across it again

If either of them had fought Loughran, they very well could've gotten knocked out late as they would've gassed badly as they strained to catch the elusive Tommy. Carnera could keep up a good pace not only for 10-12, but for 15 rounds. Looking at the film, one can hardly tell via activity whether it's the 2nd or the 10th round, as Primo didn't show signs of fatigue and open mouths like today's giants.
I was referring to Carnera vs Loughran. Are you saying the sheer size advantage for Carnera had nothing at all to do with his victory?
No I'm saying that without decent skills and excellent stamina, he wouldn't have beaten Loughran. But of course his size and strength played a factor. But if the size was the main asset, Loughran would've lost to Victorio Campolo as well instead of beating him twice.
HHenry: I don't think claiming that Loughran beats Whitaker or McCline is a very 'out there' statement. As for Wlad vs Primo, I would predict Klitschko to beat Carnera, but it would be ugly while it lasted.
"Big Time" McCline never quite impressed me, nor did Whitaker. Loughran would have danced circles around them for ten rounds, before ever giving up two. That I can agree on. As for Wlad/Carnera, Wlad certainly has more pop in his punches than Carnera did, but, make no mistake, Carnera was ever dangerous and could take punches. I think Wlad wins it too, but it would be an ugly fight, I agree.

Thanks. That was all I was looking for.

Whitaker is hopeless and McCline for all his size has little heart and no confidence. Carnera would have no trouble beating big useless lumps like that. Tommy Burns would beat them too.

Come on, don't be coy, put us in the picture. We already know the reporter was a bit on the nose with some of his comments so what was the smallest crowd for a heavyweight title fight in the previous 43 years?

I'd have to check the newspaper reports but I'd be fairly confident in saying that Johnson in a couple of his defenses had a smaller crowd than 10,000.
