To me he epitomises boxing. he grabs his chances with both hands and doesnt let go. his will to win is amazing and just goes to show that if u really want it bad enough and u work hard for it u will get it even if you are not the most talented which Rogan isnt. I ADMIRE THE MAN AND HE IS INSPIRATION TO ME.

The thing Rogan has over the other heavyweights esp the world champs, is that he is prepared to DIE in the ring and give it his all, cos he knows its his only chance.

thats why if hes up against valuev or Klits - i'm backing him.

Spot on, congratulations to him. I was impressed when he won the Prizefighter tournament, delighted when he ended Audley's career (for now at least) and surprised when he beat Skelton the other night.

Genuinely the best of luck to him, he always comes across well in interviews and he seemed thoroughly chuffed to win on Saturday.

I'd like to see him go for the European title next, and hopefully a world title if the cinderella story continues

From winning the first Prizefighter, to beating Audley to stopping Skelton in the best all British Heavyweight fight I've possibly ever seen (which should have got him the European title as well to be fair) I think Rogan is absolutely great. Incredible story really.

As I said on the other thread I don't think a world title shot is beyond the realms of possibility, he would be a promoters dream for a MSG show.

good one billy, he IS a heavyweight tony oakey, approachable, affable and not short on balls. as someone eluded to earlier, he would be a dream to promote stateside, he could get a massive heavyweight following stateside.

im not sure what his promotional situation is, did FW have options on him, or should hennessey or maloney be offering him 'big bucks' to come aboard. or are matchroom still in control of his destiny.

he is now flavour of the month, but todays news can easily be tomorrrows fish and chip paper. he needs to remain focused, remain down to earth and continue to work hard, who knows, if he can grab the euro belt then he might just get a world title shot against someone. he would not stand a chance against the klits, they are wise enough to keep him at distance and tie him up on the inside, but against someone who likes a rumble, he would always have a chance as i was particularly impressed with his accuracy on the inside.

rogan v holyfield anyone? sounds crazy, but a good name to have on your cv. in his last 2 fights rogan has beaten 2 fighters who were 'fringe' world level heavyweights, surely that makes rogie at least that standard. skelton had a punch up and should be commended, audley, you are a fanny who would not fight.

I helped in Rogies corner and the mans sheer will to win and belief in himself is unbeleavable.At one stage i thought to myself this is probly how rocky marcians opponents felt having a smaller bull of a man just walking thru punches that finished of other boxers.

What cannot be underestimated is the effect Rogies corner of Eammon Magee and John Breen motivating him.

Great guy and so bloody tough realy pleased for him.

Breathtaking performance from Rogan, I didn't see that one coming. Skeltons got one of the best engines in the HW division and Rogan managed to outlast him and bully him into submission, despite being well outweighed.

Great fight, Great performance and by all accounts a Great bloke. Well Done Martin, surely it's got to be a shot at the British or European title next up

Rogan is a right double hard bastard

DD . His stamina, durability, belief, punch power and clean punching could take him to world title shot despite his age and lack of experience, personally I would steer him towards Danny Williams first. Hate to say it but this result makes Audley look a bit better :(

Rogie is one of the nicest guys in the sport. He has time for everyone. A real life Rocky story.

Billy, you probably spoke to Mickey huges on the phone, one of the Breen Teams top men.

As Billy said Rogan has been at quitting point a few times, he was going to quit after one of his winning bouts on a Team ALio show of ours in Belfast as he couldn't get fights. At the time he was self manged promoted etc. Breen had a fellow coach and promoter Alan Wilton to have a wee chat and a few moonths later rogie was out again on a Team Alio show, and had a slight change of heart and decided to stick at it. Alio and rogan kept in contact via Mickey Hughes and John Breen.

Rogie has shown a solid comitment to the sport and is willing to put everything on the line now to go as far as he can. For a late start he is really proving himself. (feck am I really saying this after all my belshaw hype

)

Magee is a great motivator for Rogan, they have a very close bond now, much closer than before. Magee is also a very very nice guy with a great family (his missus makes a mean bacon soda) who are all involved in boxing. though he has a knack for wrecking PC's

Personally I don't think Rogan needs to do much more, he has proved himself as a name to reckoned with in the British ranks. If Rogie gets one more big payday he can always go back to the taxi's. to be honest i think a carefully picked euro bout could set rogan up for life. Fingers crossed Warren can make this show in Belfast. (Boxingchat tell him I have 3 fighters willing to fight on the bill for cheap purse's

)

Also Billy I passed that number on via Magee and Willie Thompson how has switched camps to join John Breens camp in the last few days.

It is an astonishing feat comming from nowhere to such prominence. Lets hope he gets the big fights and then maybe he will own a fleet of taxis in Belfast and not have to drive any of them. Seems a very likeable guy very ordinary and down to earth. Definately capable of getting British and Euro but I couldnt see him beating either of the Klits for a World title. I think he could possibly stop Haye, but if it went to points I think Haye would win.

Yes he certainly is up there for likeable boxers, you can't begrudge him his moment in the sun, and he may have a few more surprises before he retires.

Any heavyweight with a good chin can go places nowadays, he also has fitness and desire. Makes him hard to beat.

Where for him to go now?
I'd like to see him make a hometown defense, let him sell out in Belfast.
Rogan is signed with Warren, who is looking to make a Euro title try as well, maybe Alexander Dimitrenko could be in the opposite corner. Obviously that wouldn't be for the commonwealth title.
