I have thusfar been a bit of a fan of Tyson Fury.
he deserves a crack of the whip ( no pun intended - I'm keeping out of your above discussion - save to say that I think MPG has a point. Gypo does sound disrespectful and I think it is a word used in a negative rather than a positive manner - as is paki the way a lot of people use that word. I wouldn't dream of calling a pakistani a paki, likewise if I was at work talking to my boss about a colleague and I referred to a pakistani as a paki, that would not go down well for a good reason!
Before I make a hypocrite of myself I will say now that I referred to Tyson as a proud gypo fighter earlier in this topic. I was talking about his prospects as he progresses in the sport and suggesting that although we haven't seen him go down yet - if he did I could see him getting up etc....basically that i think he will have some guts when the times comes and they are needed.
Clearly I wasn't using it in a derrogatory manner, but it was probably a bit lazy of me to write gypo instead of gypsy/ or traveller so apologies if anyone found that offensive, I shall refrain in future.

back to my point - Tyson has been a ABA champion and as such deserves to be taken every bit as seriously as say Frankie Gavin or James Degale. For me, and I suspect others, who haven't seen much of him, there is a fascination which is namely - is he actually any good - because with his size and weight he obviously has advantages over I suspect, every fighter he has ever met!

I suspect he will turn out to be pretty decent and like Emma I think he comes across as a down to earth likeable sort of chap, which is important as noone wants to root for an arrogant b*stard. HOWEVER, from watching the fight at the weekend a couple of things I noticed - 1) he does his ring walk far too slowly for me. It's not Lennox Lewis here on the way into the ring to defend the WBC....he's in his third fight - I would like to see him make less fuss, get in and get on with it.
2) wear shorts that fit please, I can't speak for my fellow poster Emma, but I do not want to know about Tyson Fury's underpants. To be fair he lost weight between getting fitted and the fight.
3) I think Tyson was starting to showboat a bit in that fight on Saturday. I would prefer not to see this against a man that resembles a boiled egg.

All in all though a decent performance and he looks pretty decent to me when he opens up. Those who say Audley would beat him easily I think are mistaken. He may or he may not beat him, I don't know, but Audley Harrison doesn't like to fight and if Tyson Fury brought it too him, which I think he would, in fact I'm certain of it...there is every chance, every chance, that Harrison would either get KO'd or go into a defensive shell and lose on points before calling out David Haye a fortnight later.

For me, the Fury bandwagon gathers some pace, and I'm still aboard.

Back to tyson,As said before by others,he needs to tone it down.His calling out Heavyweght's who are all on a learning curve themselfs,He needs to show respect and stop proclaiming that his the next world champion after only 3 fights.
