I thought he lost to Bob Ajisafe (close) and then beat Darren Stubbs (easily). Crazy stuff.

Good little read. Prefer it when articles are in that format and not long-winded.
Asterix, i called it the same as you (as i think everyone else bar the judges did).

I agree with Carl regarding the Stubbs fight, I thought he won the 1st and 3rd rounds. I'm still gobsmacked that the judges managed to add up 3 rounds incorrectly, it's hardly fcuking rocket science
It must've been a terrible way for Dilks to find out he was out of the tournament and a 'few' grand lighter.
I thought the Ajisafe fight was close and could have gone either way, but I thought Carl was the slightly busier and deserved the nod

The judges didn't add anything up wrong. When the master scorecard was transferred to a cue-card (for the MC to read from) the two names were put the wrong way round. Still unforgivable but more understandable.

Cheers for the clarification, it's still piss poor officiating thoughdbflex wrote:The judges didn't add anything up wrong. When the master scorecard was transferred to a cue-card (for the MC to read from) the two names were put the wrong way round. Still unforgivable but more understandable.

bet they don't get sacked and thrown out in the street in tar and feathers though like the nobs that they are.
why risk the possibility that might happen, why not just give the master scorecard to the MC.

It was farcical, I was watching with a very casual boxing fan who just thought the whole thing was bent and pointless and that we should switch over and watch Celebrity Dinners, damn I love that woman ![[icon_notworthy.gif]](./images/smilies/icon_notworthy.gif)

I do feel sorry for Dilks, but it is worse for Stubbs.dbflex wrote:The judges didn't add anything up wrong. When the master scorecard was transferred to a cue-card (for the MC to read from) the two names were put the wrong way round. Still unforgivable but more understandable.
He won the fight , OK the verdict was debatable but never the less that IS the nature of boxing. He won the fight on the judges card, that is the final decision.
Because of an error he was denied his "moment of glory" being declared the winner, and was in a very disadvantaged position going into the final as he must have "wound down" a little after he thought he had lost.

They still badly fvcked it up. No way did Dilks lose that one.dbflex wrote:The judges didn't add anything up wrong. When the master scorecard was transferred to a cue-card (for the MC to read from) the two names were put the wrong way round. Still unforgivable but more understandable.
