Fingers crossed. Regardless of the winner, I think will be a really good fight.

Would question the risk of fighting in Germany but this fight has about as much chance of going the distance as Liverpool have of winning the Premier League.

Re: Haye v Klitschko rumours strengthening
I reckon Booth will have to bite the bullet here and accept whatever the Germans decide:
Where does an 8001b gorilla sit? Anywhere he wants.
He hasn't got much leverage here at all, and the sooner they sign, the less chance DH has of getting sparked during a warmup. At HW that's a real risk, more so when you're a vunerable cruiser.
Wlad will fancy this one too, he'll likely get more TV money taking on a big talking puncher like Haye - and he probably thinks it'll only take a few well placed shots to send DH packing. Better he gets there before someone else does. His chin may be vunerable, but it looks a lot better than Haye's right now.

I will be dissapointed if it is in Germany - in fact I think it will be f*cking stupid - Haye is looking after his own needs - and whilst some will say he has a right to - Haye early in his career in my opinion did not work on his fan base which is why he couldn't sell out a phone box - I know for a fact - his last fight whilst it was great to see the people that came to the O2 - it was nonetheless a very hard sell!!!
Haye should do what Froch has done - build on his popularity and then f*ck off to another country - in my opinion Haye has absolutely no connection with the fans and in fact spends the majority of his time in North Cyprus where he is keen to please the local population - what about the fans in the UK??
I for one will be furious if Team Haye has agreed to a 3 fight option with K2 Promotions to fight the Klitschko's - I hope that is not the case and Haye bothers about his fans in the UK.
Re: Haye v Klitschko rumours strengthening
I actually think Germany would be better because it would be a bigger attraction in Germany.
I'll still go.

Re: Haye v Klitschko rumours strengthening
I always thought the fight would happen, it was just the Klits playing hardball to get all the money and the advantages

Emerz - we are the lucky ones - perhaps we can afford it - what about those fans that can't!!!
I will state again - Haye should worry about his fan base in the UK - especially if he wants them to come in their thousands to his other promotions which he is now putting on.
Re: Haye v Klitschko rumours strengthening
Germany fights regularly receive 25 million+ viewers. It's huge there and on mainstream TV. Haye would get much bigger exposure beating him in his own backyard (as the Mormeck result did). Plus tickets would be more so they'd make more.
Is it good for the UK fans, of course not. But we've gotta be realistic. Can't have every great fight here in the UK.

Re: Haye v Klitschko rumours strengthening
Haye hasn't got the promotional will or nouse to sort it out for a British date.
He wants the big fights and will do what he has to, to get them, despite prob taking short money to go to the Klits back yard, and prob have options on him too.
Most Brit fighters get criticised for staying at home!

Sorry Emerz - we will have to disagree - there is a total disregard for the fans in the UK in my humble opinion - times are hard and whilst boxing is a business and you have to make money where you can - you should never forget the Golden Rule of forgetting or disregarding the fans - Haye made himself popular with excellent wins against Mormeck and then Maccarinelli - then there was the Barrett fight where the price of the tickets was all wrong in my view - that blame was placed firmly on the O2 Arena for getting it wrong -Emerson Poncey Name Ghent wrote:Germany fights regularly receive 25 million+ viewers. All I am saying is - it would be great if Team Haye really concentrated on its UK fans!!!

I actually see your point - but in my view boxing has a lot of its problems due to the fact that sometimes the needs and wants of the fans are totally disregarded !!Coco wrote:Haye hasn't got the promotional will or nouse to sort it out for a British date.

I couldn't give a toss where the fight happens (I'd probably watch it on the telly if it was on in Cannock leisure centre) as long as it happens. Wlad'll get knocked the fcuk out wherever it happens

Re: Haye v Klitschko rumours strengthening
So if it was in Germany, where abouts would it likely to be?
And would it easily accessible for British fans? I'd be interested in going if it was in Germany but it could be really awkward to get to

Chambers I agree concerning the outcome of the fight - it would be fantastic to see David spark Klitschko!!!Chambers2 wrote:I couldn't give a toss where the fight happens (I'd probably watch it on the telly if it was on in Cannock leisure centre) as long as it happens. Guaranteed the O2 Arena in Berlin. They have a lot of boxing there.chrisfinch wrote:So if it was in Germany, where abouts would it likely to be?

They've only had one fight there (Vitali-Peter).
Wladimir mostly boxes at the SAP Arena, Mannheim, which is enormous but a bit in the middle of nowhere.
Re: Haye v Klitschko rumours strengthening
I figured David could fulfill his AEG contract there, too, if it's still in force? Especially if GBP co-promote.
Or maybe a football stadium.

I seriously did not even contemplate your reaction to this!!!
Yeah okay if you arguing from a boxing perspective then yes you can argue Haye is chasing the dream and as such it would fantastic if he were to capture the Heavyweight Championship Of The World.
However from the fans perspective in my view its all wrong - Haye in my view is forgetting his fans at a time he was just starting to build a fan base - but even that wasn't the heights others and in fact many others achieved earlier in their careers!!!
Re: Haye v Klitschko rumours strengthening
I agree. But, as Coco said, we can't have it our way all the time. The situation is the same for Him as Mormeck. He has to travel away to beat the best in the division. When he wins, he will have the bargaining to fight Vitali in London for what could/will be a bigger fight. Every cloud and all that.Spud wrote:Emerz,Emerson Poncey Name Ghent wrote:I figured David could fulfill his AEG contract there, too, if it's still in force? Especially if GBP co-promote.
